Judge Cannon will be indicted by the end of summer for some BS “collusions” or “conspiracy” for daring to do ANYTHING in favor of Trump. Who will stop Merrick and his minions?

“The issue is grand jury abuse in DC with everything done in secrecy in DC in order to keep it all in SWAMP FAMILY”

Excellent point. If we saw who was on that jury it would be a “Who’s Who” of the most evil political Trump hating commies in the DNC.

I think she needs a Defense motion to raise the issue. The Prosecution gets to file in response, then she can issue a ruling. I do not think she can initiate it.

Any Legal Freepers care to comment?

“Because the alleged criminal acts involved documents in FL: they didn’t have any choice but to file in FL. They tried to move the trial to DC, but Cannon slapped that down, too.”

I don’t think that is the point. The point is they held the Grand Jury in DC, not in Florida.

The 6th modifies Article III, especially by requiring criminal trials to be conducted in the district where the alleged crime(s) were committed.

EXACTLY, PRECISELY!!

And I think he had a hard time getting an indictment from DC.

I took him loooong enough to get it.

Trump’s attorney needs to file a motion to dismiss. I’m sure that will be part of their pleadings. The judge is making sure the Special Counsel has an opportunity to respond to those pleadings. The Special Counsel’s reply will be total bullshit.

I think the two are related: I think the charges stem from the docs being in FL, so they had to file the charges in FL to get the search warrant, etc. But the Grand Jury was in DC, something that Cannon is now questioning.

A grand jury is seated for its district. It cannot be used to file charges in another district.

I think that’s what the judge is asking about.

Some commentary on what cases constitutionally must/should be tried in DC and what might be tried elsewhere. It agrees there is a problem with how it is done currently and claims changes are possible.
