Nearly one year after President Biden enacted a sprawling package to combat harmful emissions and boost clean energy, his administration is struggling to demonstrate the law’s value to weary voters — and stave off a widening array of new political threats.
Most Americans — 57 percent — disapprove of Biden’s handling of climate change, according to a Washington Post-University of Maryland poll, which also finds that few adults say they know a good amount or great deal about the Inflation Reduction Act, a law that includes massive new investments in response to global warming.
The low approval and lack of public awareness underscore Biden’s top challenge entering the 2024 presidential race, as he looks to sell an unknowing electorate on an agenda that — in the eyes of the White House — has created jobs, boosted manufacturing and lowered costs for families.
The Inflation Reduction Act couples the largest-ever tranche of climate funding with new government programs that aim to lower prescription drug costs for seniors and pursue unpaid federal taxes. Democrats adopted the spending package last August, overcoming more than a year of fierce bickering inside their own ranks — and the staunch, unanimous objections of their Republicans foes.

I don’t know if I approve or disapprove of how the fake President is handling the fake issue. That’s a tough one. I think disapprove.
These kind of polls are meaningless.
If you are against what he is doing you say he’s doing a bad job... If you want him to do more that what he is doing you say he is doing a bad job.
It is unlikely you could poll on any issue that draws a passionate divisive response of the general public and get a result that shows majority approval.
If common sense ruled, it should be about 110% of Americans shunning Biden’s screwed up ideas about “climate change”. Is he the head moron or just acting on the advice of the real head moron? In my lifetime, I have never seen an administration so wrong about so many things. All this really seemed to be shifting into high gear around the time Obama was elected, but I am not sure exactly when it started. So glad I was a child in the ‘40s/’50s & not somewhat later as I may not live long enough to have to see how bad it really can get.
When I see a poll that shows Biden’s disapproval numbers, I know that that includes many leftist idiots who believe that Biden’s too “moderate”.
It doesn’t matter who the person you are polling about is...
You could have a president, popular or otherwise, for either party and ask questions about some highly emotional divisive topic and whether you agreed or disagreed with their handling of it..
You will almost always get the same result, majority don’t agree with their handling.
Because the folks who think you should be doing more, and the folks who think you are doing the wrong thing, almost always represent the overall majority of folks in such polls.
There is no way for anyone to “handle” climate change. We can only adapt to it.
If every country on Earth confiscated every penny beyond bare subsistence from every person and spent it all on “climate”, they couldn’t affect the global temperature by one degree or the sea levels by an inch. If you believe otherwise, you have been scammed. The objects of the scam- MONEY and POWER.
They lie to you in seeking that money and power, and many of you believe them. Though life on Earth is carbon-based, they have convinced you that carbon is a pollutant rather than the basic building block of life as we know it. Atmospheric carbon dioxide is four hundredths of one percent. If it was five time greater the only difference we’d notice is the plant life around us thriving. And the dominant greenhouse gas is water vapor.
The “elite” want you frightened. They want to ban fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Since the alternate technologies are not nearly capable of replacing them, you’ll freeze in the dark. But THEY won’t!
