Student loans sob stories, and government employees still working from home

The media, Biden, and other Democrats keep bragging how great Bidenomics is and how good the job market is.  That would especially make it good for kids who went to college because they make more than people who didn't.

Yet we get these sob stories, that essentially are campaigning for other people to pay off student loan debt, whining that after three years of letting people skip paying their loans, they are all of a sudden are going to have to pay.  What a concept!  Paying off your own debt.

Somehow, only half are going to be required to pay more than two hundred per month but they won't be able to pay it.  Maybe they should skip some trips to Starbucks.

And we are supposed to feel bad that they ran up other debts.  Why didn't they prepare?

Student loans: Angst for restarting

The months ahead, though, look tougher for many borrowers as payments restart.

recent TransUnion study found that about half of borrowers will have to pay more than $200 a month when payments restart and about one in five will see payments of more than $500.

"Research suggests those who benefited from loan forbearance increased their auto and credit card debt during this period…and many borrowers will now face increased consumer debt on top of their student loans," Jim Mahaney, a certified financial planner at Mavericus Retirement, wrote in a blog post.

In fact, more than half (53%) of borrowers got a new credit card, over a third (36%) took on an auto loan, and 15% now have a mortgage or personal loan, TransUnion found.

Another article says Biden wants government workers to go back to the office.

My unka Sammie paid for my free edumakation by sending me to all sorts of strange, hot places where I could not talk to the locals. /sarc
Good and bad times.

Maya be folks don’t need to pay 100k+ for a basket weaving Bachelors of Arts degree that does little to advance themselves or society or go to a school that costs less for such degrees. I thought I read Yale has less that 60 students in the English department as why pay 300k for a job with fries or low paying teaching job.

I paid all of our school loan debts. I didn’t want to, it was difficult. I want a refund if these folks get a free ride.

An example of how ineffective and worthless our leftist schools and colleges are:

Graduates do not understand what a LOAN is.....

As opposed to a handout.

The free ride is because starting with Obamacare, Democrats realized that there was no practical limitation on the amount of public debt that could be issued. A trillion here, a trillion there. Write a check for student loan forgiveness, and then move on to reparations.

Sure, it causes a little transitory inflation, but that’s just an excuse for a bigger budget next year.

I worked with grad students for several years

There are some exceptions, BUT for the most part a more lazy, immature, unrealistic, naive and mindless crowd of simpletons you will not find.

My friend’s daughter was narrowing down choices for school. Me, being a STEM guy, reeled off several universities with excellent physics and engineering programs. She said she wasn’t interested in STEM, so I had a look at the magazine she was reading, which had an interesting article about the best “party” schools. She never finished school and has a huge student loan debt for the two years she did go. She was happy dimentia Joe wants to forgive the debt. I told her it wasn’t fair to me to pay off her bad choices, but she told me it wasn’t my money anyway. We got into an argument about economics/government spending, and now we don’t speak to each other. There is no dealing with this crop of uneducated wokesters.
