A certain presidential candidate has been very popular lately. He appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast. House Republicans invited him to testify before Congress on censorship. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, also a Republican, has suggested that if he becomes president, he might nominate him to lead the Food and Drug Administration or Centers for Disease Control. GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said he’d consider him to be his running mate.
The only problem? This candidate is running in the Democratic primary.

ABSOLUTE FEAR of RFK Jr. Great to watch the Democrats trying to deal with him!
Which party would fit JFK if he were alive and running today instead of in 1960?
Doesn’t matter. SS Camelot done sailed a long time ago.
No, he is in the right primary. Democrats need to address the disconnect between traditional and progressive Democrats. The party is infested with communists and socialists which are pushing out loyal Americans like RFK Jr. As well, too many miss that the Kennedy name still commands attention.
He could run in the GOP primary where he openly disagrees with more than 90% of what voters support?
JFK would probably be too far to the right to be in the GOP today.
“Great to watch the Democrats trying to deal with him”
Like his father & uncle before him, probably.
But it would be interesting to see how many Democrat votes he get in the primaries. I think he will get more than most of us expect.
The man is in love with Obama so he is in the right primary. Leave him be.
The author is wrong. RFK Jr is running as a (kind of) old-time traditional Democrat. With some luck, he might be able to restore a bit of sense to his party.
RFK Jr is just where he’s supposed to be.
The only difference is this JFK, Jr. is a pre-Obama Democrat. The rest goose-step after Obama and his totalitarian program, especially the women.
We have three recent polls in N.H. They all show Biden leading RFK Jr something like 80 to 10.

Over in the Republican Party, Trump is far out in front of DiSantis, but nowhere near as far as Biden.

The place for RFK Jr is third party, if he’s interested. The Democrats are already looking to keep No Labels off the ballot, like they did with Kanye West and the Green Party candidate four years ago.

PS Those guys could’ve tipped Az., Ga. and Wi. to Trump. But, somebody was asleep at the wheel during the first half of 2020, when the Democrats were pulling one after another shenanigan, being as that person was confident of winning, winning, winning.
Neither.
Politics is very different today. The Democrats are what the CPUSA was in JFK's day. MAGA is like what George Wallace was without the racism, and I mean that as a compliment. The GOPe is probably closest to the views of JFK's collection of advisors, such as Rusk, McNamara, McGeorge Bundy, and Sorenson.
Whether JFK himself had core beliefs is difficult to tell in hindsight. He got as many votes as he did because he was what the WWII vets wanted to see themselves as, and what their wives wanted to see their husbands as. We think of it as "Camelot" in part because it was sold that way, and in part because it was the end of the Great American High, "high" being used in the Strauss/Howe sense, and there has been nothing like that perceived-golden age ever since.
JFK, Jr. is a pre-Obama Democrat. Radicalization is further in the future.
Other than that, not much difference. The “sense of his party” has, is, and always will be government power over individual freedom regardless of constitutional limits on government power.
He’s gonna run in the (D) primary b/c HE IS A DEMOCRAT!
Now, Cornel West is a different story. He’s a (G) (Green).
I wish them both well.
Right. Dems do not fear baRF K Jr. anywhere near as much as pothead infiltrators in the GOP rave about him.
Didn't stop the party from nominating Willard the Rat and Cap'n McQueeg.
I think I will vote for RFK in the dem primary just to put a vote against Biden out there.
Seriously numb skull article. And the people on this forum who think that screwball would be a good running mate for an admittedly healthy now -but who knows in the future- Trump, need to have their heads examined
RFK Jr is far from perfect. But he does question some things the government has told us must be true. Which side of RFK Jr will win out, the statist side or the liberty side? It doesn’t really matter. The Deep State will allow him to fuss around a little.
But they will never allow him anywhere near the levers of power.
