A Ron DeSantis administration would begin with a bureaucratic bloodbath, the Florida governor vowed – using language that had some potential supporters feeling queasy.
We’re going to have all these deep state people. You know, we’re going to start slitting throats on Day One,' he said.
That came after a pledge about cracking down on Mexican drug cartels. 'At the border, they’re going to be shot stone, cold dead,' he said, according to New Hampshire's NPR affiliate .

When you've lost the argument...
“Cali weirdo” I kine-a-like that!
DeSantis had the chance to stop Broward County Election Supervisor, and long time corrupt election fraudster Brenda Snipes from getting her pension after she was found guilty of illegally destroying ballots, but when he took office, he simply let her resubmit her resignation, instead of holding her accountable for her years of corruption. By doing that he slapped Governor Rick Scott and the rest of the people in Florida across the face. She was black, but he got weak in the knees, and couldn’t bring himself to do the right thing. Yeah, he’s such a tough guy.
Yes, Globalists all.
DeSantis wouldn't have got jack-$hit accomplished if he hadn't had a more than 2-1 Republican majority in both Houses of the State Legislature. He didn't do any of it by himself. He's never had to deal with a Democrat majority, not even when he served in the House. Republicans were in charge of the House the whole time he served in D.C.
Let's be realistic here. A group of people posting comments on FR against DeSantis isn't going to have any effect on the fact that he's already destroyed himself on the campaign trail.
Because he was lucky enough to have a massive Republican majority in both Houses of the State Legislature. He didn't deliver anything on his own.
We ought not be jerkin’ each others chains because we’re, ostensibly, on the same side! That is to say we’re in opposition to the crooks who currently administer things. When it ceases to be good-natured fun, we abet the real enemy. Let’s be nice, ‘cause “it’s nice to be nice!” A saying attributed to King Louis H. Narcisse of Oakland, California!
LOL
desantis supporters/nevertrumpers consider desantis to be a great man because
desantis deliberately lies to people and his voters in Florida
manipulates people
commits campaign fraud and violates FEC regulations without a care
and blows off people’s concerns when they go up to speak with desantis, because he has no empathy and doesn’t ‘connect’ with people
Yep, being deceitful, untrustworthy, and uncaring is what makes a great man to them...
but most people wouldn’t consider those to be great characteristics...
Once again a Trumper proves they have no sense of irony or humor. It’s very leftardish.
You mock me for having a little fun with a common expression -by portraying DeSantis as a buccaneer- while your Trump tribe fanatically worships a guy that sells superhero trading cards of himself. And you all actually pay money for that inane juvenile crap. It’s not me that needs help.
DeSantis has a credibility problem. You can see it in the posts here. You can see it in his falling poll numbers. I certainly don’t believe he would go after the deep state. Trump on the other hand is continuously attacked by the deep state and has every reason to eliminate it. He will have 4,000 non-Senate confirmed appointees ready to go on Day 1 to start the process. Those people are being identified right now.
DeepStatis won’t do anything against his masters. He’s also politically stupid to talk like that.
Come on Ron. Can’t you come up with a better line than that.
If Trump was smart, he'd stand down and throw the full weight of his support behind DeSantis while apologizing and begging forgiveness for every nasty word he said about him.
Trump has no path to the White House. He will certainly get convicted for at least some, if not all, of the charges against him.
He needs to start thinking about earning pardons. Plus, with a Republican president in the White House, he might actually get invited back for his official portrait unveiling.
His pre-election actions are weak AF though.
Trump didn’t deliver on his promises? Yet, he’s had the best 4 years of anybody in the last 100 years. What are you smoking?
Meanwhile, DeSantis inherited a state which was going good before he was elected. Chances are that Florida would have been just fine without him. It was good that he won in 2018 and 2022, but, any other republican would have do perhaps just as well. Rick Scott left the state in good shape and even Jeb Bush left the state doing well.
qwerty1234:
“What did he (Trump) promised to do during his presidency?
Really? He balanced the budget? paid of the national debt?
built a wall? .... do I need to go on?”
mass55th:
“Desantis did what he promised to do during his Governance of Florida?”

Answer by USA-FRANCE:
Well, well... I got two opposing answers here. One pro Desantis and one pro Trump. You represent TWO distinct categories of voters within the Republican party.
But the thing is... there is a THIRD category. One that supports BOTH Trump and Desantis. That’s a wiser category which I am supporting.
Because we don’t have the luxury to divide our party again. It will only let the Democrats win for ever - because they know how to stick together, at any cost... at the expense of America and the Republicans.
Trump and Desantis Republicans must learn to respect each other and learn to collaborate. There is no other way.
The logical solution I see is to vote for Trump in 2024 and for Desantin in 2028. Its fair. I don’t see how and Republicans can refute such a pragmatic solution.
He can’t read the room. Tone deaf. This is not his time.
