I think he’s just a liar and a back stabber. Even worse, it appears now that he is also vindictive.

My takeaway from Pence's comments is that he's absolutely 100% certain that he did what he was Constitutionally authorized to do;

The constitution forces you to participate in corruption?

I would think people could say "no."

Two points;

Pence said he rejected the idea out of hand. Mr Pence, are you saying you don’t know if it’s legal or not?

You said it would end up in the House of Reps. How do you know that? Perhaps because the founding fathers foresaw it, and that’s the remedy (legally) when a contested election takes place? In fact, this sort of thing has happened historically more than once! It seems our founders however did not put their adversaries in jail.

Why did you refer to Trump’s legal team as “Crackpots” but not say anything about t the CRACK found in the whitehouse?

I wonder if Pence ever read the Constitution or the rules for the Electoral College vote verification.

He did. And he’s right. There are plenty of reasons to despise the guy, but this isn’t one of them. There is no way in hell the VP has the authority — under the U.S. Constitution or Federal law — to unilaterally refuse to accept any state’s certified electoral votes.

What if a state has an alternate slate of electors because of concerns over fraud?

Serious question , because I don’t really know

I do know that many in our GA legislature sent a letter to Pence to please delay for a few weeks so they could look into the substantial accounts of fraud (much of which was unearthed during GA Senate hearings in late 2020)

I don't understand your point.

My point was that Pence was certain of his position but refused to make any assessment about Trump's position.

I'd think that he'd say something like "there are Constitutional questions of free speech and contesting elections that have to be resolved," or something like that.

I understand that as a candidate for President, Pence can't (or won't) give any indication of sympathy for Trump's actions or acknowledge that there might be protections for Trump's actions. He didn't, he just jumped on Trump as if he were guilty.

I'd think that someone who's as certain of his own actions would think that there are explanations for other people's actions, too.

We have all been PENCED!

Pence is the worst traitor to ever have “served,” as VP.

He never liked Trump and he helped Fauci and Birx pull the wool over the President’s eyes.

The founders didn’t envision the House of Representatives as the venue to remedy “contested” elections. The House is responsible for selecting the President in elections where no candidate gets a majority of the electoral votes.

Back then it wasn’t unusual for a presidential election to have more than two candidates get electoral votes, and it was more than a remote possibility that no candidate would have sufficient electoral votes to constitute a majority.

The 1804 election was the first one where only two candidates received electoral votes. The 1968 election was the last one where a third candidate won even a single state (George Wallace won five states and 46 electoral votes).

Who is the real crackpot? The one who insisted on accepting illegal electors at face value or the one trying to fix a broken election?
Remember, we are told to believe that Biden won the greatest landslide in US election history!

I think Pence has acted worse than that. He acted as judge and jury and publicly condemed Trump. Not very Christain like of this sanctimonious maggot.

What if a state has an alternate slate of electors because of concerns over fraud?

That’s a totally legitimate question, and that is exactly the type of scenario the objection process laid out in the Electoral Count Act of 1887 is supposed to address. The scenario might typically involve the governor or chief election official of a state certifying one slate of electors, and the state legislature certifying another slate.

The problem in January 2021 was that no state had sent an alternative slate of electors.

Same happened with the Pennsylvsnia Legislature. After they had certified, they found irregularities and asked for time to review them. Why wouldn’t Pence allow such?
