NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – The North End Rod and Gun Club is a place where members can come and enjoy each other's company and a dollar draft. Every year, the club donates nearly $15,000 in earnings to charities.
But this year, there was a nice surprise when it came time to do the finances.
"The surplus came about because we had savings bonds that came due, and we cashed them in to see how much money we had," said Tim Sherman, president and manager of the club.
When all was said and done, the club found out it was sitting on a million dollars. So then came the question, "What to do with all that money?" The answer for members was easy: Donate it.

I hope the didn’t donate it to any woke anti-gun charities.
Some times they can be very sly about what they really stand for.
Their facilities must be top notch to not have a wishlist of improvements and capital projects to spend the money. It’s commendable they chose to donate and I’m just wondering why the club itself wasn’t their recipient.
Wounded Warrior Project and St Jude’s each got a check for $500,000
Had a look at their web page (and Facebook page). No mention of these generous gifts or the fact that the club was in the news. Just a schedule of events and classes.
Decent people doing a generous thing and then moving on with their lives without expecting a trophy.
Precisely.
How many local left wing organizations give checks of similar amounts? Don’t believe I have ever heard of any. They only have their hands out for freebees.
