What?
Are you implying the USNS HARVEY MILK (T-AO-206) is unworthy of her name and should be renamed from a Medal of Honor winner instead of an LGBTQ+ Pride winner??
Didn't Mr. Milk serve San Francisco with great distinction? After all, they have named schools and other public buildings after him and hold lavish parades in his honor to this very day!
Great story, and no disrespect, but isn’t it unusual to name a ship after a living person?
Carl Vinson?
Navy Sec decides. Done every so often since ‘74.
FWIW, I don’t really like the idea either, although MOH recipients isn’t a bad exception.
Shove it.
Posted for obvious reasons.
What ... you think having USS Barnum and USS Bailey in the same squadron wouldn’t be funny? The sailors would have a blast with that.
YOU shove it!

I would like to see the striping of all politicians’ names from naval warships unless they had served in the military with distinction.
I don’t know, I’m kind of looking forward to the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the liberals have to celebrate the christening of the USS Donald J Trump.
