My plan was to leave Maryland upon retirement and relocate to FL, but the climate there changed my thinking. Instead, I bought a farm in the mountains of far western Maryland where even in mid-summer it’s usually not warmer than the mid ‘80s. And by sundown the temperature usually drops to the low ‘70s. By bedtime it’s commonly in the mid to low ‘60s. An added bonus is very little traffic. In our closest town we consider more than four cars at a red light to be a traffic jam! And there’s only one traffic light!
