Some state level democrats have voted to ban it and referred to Europe banning it too in their explanation letters.
A lot of people are misinformed about the issue and believe the lie that the alternative to medication is suicide. They falsely believe they are being kind and would likely change their mind if they knew the facts.

People are raised to think the “doctor” knows best.
Surrendering your fate to another is fraught with peril. Sometimes there is no choice but in every case both common sense & due diligence need to weigh in.
There are muddy thinkers, people with their own agendas, fad adopters, corrupt & venial individuals and profit seekers in every walk of life. Sadly doctors, teacher, social workers & teachers are not exempt.
There has been terrible pressure placed on parents from threats of legal consequences, threats to and actual removal of children for failure to toe the party line. Judges have bought into these lies and brought down the full force of the law.
This is a National shame and a travesty of justice, an assault on our Constitutional right and on the family, orchestrated by those who would take away our freedoms to better control and profit from us.
No one can fix the terrible wrongs that were done but the pendulum needs to swing. Experimental surgery/hormonal castration, has life altering consequences and is never justified especially under the traditional age of consent.
Doctors are responsible for their work and in all cases they should be prosecuted, their licences removed and monetary awards should be made to their patients.
The original studies on transgender surgery by Johns Hopkins showed high rates of complications, suicides and no net improvement in life quality. The program was terminated. Years later unscrupulous people revived the practice with no scientific or moral justification. Because the left was involved this destructive practice was promoted, sanitized and popularized. The rush to hormones and surgery confirms that the patient’s well being was not even considered in the rush to a clinician desired endpoint. There is no justification for mutilating someone into a nonfunctioning man or nonfunctioning women. Mental issues are not remediated via life long mutilation, pain, loss of ability to reproduce or experience sexual pleasure.
The left is evil and causes great misery which parading in a cloak of sanctity.
