I can’t think of a single unknown presidential candidate who came out of nowhere except obama. There might be others, but i don’t remember them and they didn’t win.

Who was the computer lady that trump named horseface?

A state issue, just like slavery, right?

A state issue, just like murder. Each state has its own laws dealing with murder - federal law does not meddle with these. Abortion should be, and now is, exactly the same - states determine the laws and the punishments.

We won. Accept the win and move on.

Isn’t this basically Trump’s position? Nowhere in the Constitution does it give the federal government authority over abortion. That’s what SCOTUS decided in 2022.

Yeah, this is Trump’s position too, and if a person believes in the Constitution, the federal government has no say in either mandating states allow abortions or states can’t perform abortions.

That’s what SCOTUS correctly decided last year.

There was an amendment ending slavery. If you’d like to ban abortion at a federal level, work on passing it into the Constitution as an amendment.

Yes, and it’s correct but people will freak out.

Yep. If conservatives want a federal ban on abortion, work on passing an amendment to include it in the Constitution. I’m pro-life but also pro-federalism as defined in the Constitution. Its a state issue and people can always move to a state that has hemmed abortion.

That’s why we had the 13th amendment to the Constitution. A Constitutional amendment to ban abortion would be legal.

Slavery was specifically referred to in the original constitution, which was legal at the time, so it arguably required a constitutional amendment to ban it. Abortion was universally illegal at the time our constitution was ratified and therefore there is no requirement for an amendment to ban it.
