Short of the media closing ranks and trying desperately to hide the story -- which is already happening, of course -- Joe's pretty well in a bind either way. And even the media can't ignore this forever.
If he pardons Hunter, it's effectively an admission that everything about his bribery/influence peddling scheme is true. If he doesn't, ... well, it will all come out in court anyway.
Biden's only chance here is to try and run out the election clock, but there's seriously too much time between now and next November. The Dems are going to have to replace him.
