The military coup in Niger has been successfully completed.
Another pro-French president, Mohamed Bazuma, has been overthrown. The message about the seizure of power was read by Colonel Amadou Abdraman, who spoke on behalf of the army and security forces. Power has been seized by the military, which controls key administrative buildings in the Niger capital.
The country's borders are closed, the army warns that it will respond to any foreign intervention. A curfew has been declared in the country, and the activities of all state institutions have been temporarily suspended.
The United States and the United Nations called for the urgent release of the President of Niger. Niger is the de facto part of the remains of the French neo-colonial empire in northwest Africa.
It was in Niger that troops were withdrawn from Mali when they were asked to leave. Niger is home to strategic uranium mines that are critical to France's nuclear program. Remarkably, some of the leaders of the military rebellion have links to the military junta in Mali, which takes an open pro-Russian stance.
In the event that the rebels bring the coup to an end and completely seize power in the country, I would not rule out that after a certain amount of time, the Wagner PMC may appear in Niger, and the French will be asked to leave from here.
Niger will be free!
If the pro-Russian coup in Niger is a success, it is EXTREMELY serious for Europe.
France absolutely did not expect to be ousted from Niger (4th country…). 1/3 of uranium ☢️ used by France comes from Niger Congrats Emmanuel. Add Chad, & this will be 🇷🇺’s new colonial empire:
