The press is always going to attack a Republican.
Reagan was a dunce.
Bush I was hapless.
Bush II was a bumbling fool.
Trump is a danger to our democracy.

Republicans need to learn and be prepared for that, not think “here’s a candidate the press will love”. Candidates like that are called McCain and Romney.
