Book burning is always associated with the Nazis, and it is therefore a bad thing. I have always thought so, but one day I saw a comment from someone who told me what books the Nazis were burning.
It was all stuff about gender fluidity and how homosexuality was normal, "minor attracted person's stuff, and so forth.
We have been led to believe that the books being burned were essays about the rights of man or political philosophy. Nope, it was disgusting stuff like they are trying to put into our libraries nowadays.
Made me start to look at the whole idea differently.
I don't know if what the commenter said is true, but if it is, it shines an entirely different light on it, doesn't it?
Not in the slightest.
If someone doesn’t like a book they shouldn’t read it. Unless it is a parent in regards to what THEIR children read, they should STFU in any other cases.
It’s none of my business what other people read, listen to, or look at, period.
Yes, it would shed a different light, if that were the case.
However, I think it is better to destroy such trash, and those who use it in the public marketplace of ideas. Then figuratively tar and feather all those that defend such deceptive garbage.
