Russia struck the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odesa again on Sunday, local officials said, keeping up a barrage of attacks that has damaged critical port infrastructure in southern Ukraine in the past week. At least one person was killed and 22 others wounded in the attack in the early hours.
Russia has been launching persistent attacks on Odesa, a key hub for exporting grain, since Moscow canceled a landmark grain deal on Monday...
Russia’s Defense Ministry said Sunday that Russian forces had attacked sites in Odesa, “where terrorist acts against the Russian Federation were being prepared.”
The ministry said in a statement that the strikes were carried out with sea- and air-based long-range high-precision weapons, and that there are “foreign mercenaries” at the targeted sites.

For those who don’t know, the working theory is that Russia is disabling Ukrainian ports so that the Neocons don’t get any cute ideas, such as forcing their way in - to those ports. Now if the Neocons still want to go to the Black Sea, they won’t have any place to keep dropping off weapons for Ukraine.
NATO-CONS will fight to the last Ukrainian, while keeping Uke Nazis in their Rear.
How’s the Kerch bridge doing by comparison?
I guess Ukies are receiving the ‘find out’ portion of Professor Putin’s military lecture.
Hope the Poles are paying attention...
Ah, the pro-Russia warmongers are excited; giddy, even. Perhaps, they can pound sand, as their spokesman routinely defaults to when he can’t make a coherent argument.

As I said, you can’t make a coherent argument. So, how do you like the taste of sand?
Still safer than Chicago
The Odessa port is completely destroyed, as is most all the war materials cargo and storage Ukraine was sneaking in on the sly under cover of the "Grain Deal".
Continue to Pound Sand.
Continue to be a bottom feeder.
Continue to Pound Sand.
Destroying those grain elevators in Odesa was certainty an act of charity by Nazi Russia. No surprise, of course, to see the Kremlin intent on starving women and children again.
Yawn.
“the working theory”
I wonder for whom its working? Or is it just another speculation from out of... where exactly?
Rail and road seem to be working very well for the volume of aid Ukraine is getting.
Note: Denying these ports as military assets (should they be needed for that) will take a heck of a lot more than the explosive power Russia can deliver. Consider how the Germans sabotaged, say, Cherbourg in 1944. You have to blow our the piers. Or block them with sunken ships.
What the Russians are damaging is the bulk cargo handling equipment. But that is not necessary for military cargos.
A ro-ro ship, say, would have no problem docking and unloading at intact piers.
war is hell, and the Ukes are paying for our meddling, so sad
I suspect that Russia has good intelligence on what those ships are doing, which is why they figured that the Neocons would be temped to force their way in, grain deal or not. Otherwise, no need to neutralize those ports.
I don’t see why anyone would bother to try to ship military supplies on a bulk carrier when you can just load them on a train.
The Ukrainian problem isn’t getting the trains into Ukraine, it’s about getting the stuff to put on the trains in the first place. Ammo, say.
Sticking gear on the deck and hatches of a bulk carrier will be a PITB to unload, and then one would just have to load it on another train.
If anyone wanted to “force” their way in it would be with an escorted convoy of ro-ro ships, with air cover. If not an amphibious landing.
“If anyone wanted to “force” their way in it would be with an escorted convoy of ro-ro ships, with air cover. If not an amphibious landing.”
That’s the case now that ports have been wiped out...and that was the point - the Neocons now CANNOT claim they are on a ‘humanitarian mission’ should they force their way into Ukraine - it will have to be a NATO invasion, for all to see. Even the media won’t be able to give them the usual cover.
So, as I see, these strikes STABILIZED the situation in that they pushed the bar higher if NATO wants to try something ‘cute’.
most here don’t realize that there was no Kerch bridge a decade ago and Ferries were used. Plus there are other routes that can supply Crimea, that are much longer, but they do exist. But people only hear what they want to hear and most of it is from the MSM/cia network.
