I worked for a couple very competent and tough female Admirals. In 2005 we felt one was on the fast track to CNO, but the Navy was not ready for a female CNO. Maybe she is a token pick, maybe she isn't. CNO is essential an administrative position. The CNO being a female does not bother me, if she is competent and not another Biden Affirmative Action pick for the next election cycle.
From looking at her fruit cocktail looks like she has never been assigned to an active combat zone.
