United States-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs - December 19, 2008

Affirm the importance of our relationship as friends and strategic partners. We intend to deepen our partnership to the benefit of both nations and expand our cooperation across a broad spectrum of mutual priorities.

Emphasize that this cooperation between our two democracies is based on shared values and interests. These include expanding democracy and economic freedom, protecting security and territorial integrity, strengthening the rule of law, and supporting innovation and technological advances

Stress our mutual desire to strengthen our relationship across the economic, political, diplomatic, cultural, and security fields.

Confirm the importance of the security assurances described in the Trilateral Statement by the Presidents of the U.S., Russian Federation and Ukraine of January 14, 1994, and the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances in connection with Ukraine’s accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons of December 5, 1994.

Affirm the Priorities for U.S.-Ukraine Cooperation (Road Map) signed on March 31, 2008 and the commitments to a strategic partnership made by Presidents Bush and Yushchenko on April 4, 2005.

Section I: Principles of Cooperation

This Charter is based on core principles and beliefs shared by both sides:

Support for each other’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders constitutes the foundation of our bilateral relations.

Our friendship comes from mutual understanding and appreciation for the shared belief that democracy is the chief guarantor of security, prosperity and freedom. Cooperation between democracies on defense and security is essential to respond effectively to threats to peace and security.

A strong, independent and democratic Ukraine, capable of responsible self-defense, contributes to the security and prosperity not only of all the people of Ukraine, but of a Europe whole, free and at peace.

“ Was the ratified by the Senate?…”
************************************

Of course not. So it doesn’t amount to diddly-squat. But he’s SO VERY, VERY FRENCH he wouldn’t know that.

It’s funny how you people desperately TRY to change the topic when you have nothing to say when presented with facts (that even Russia would not contradict).

Here are the facts:

Please contribute about that subject, if you can.
Stay on the issue. Stay on the topic of this thread please.

If you read America’s history, you would know that without France there would most probably be no America. America would have remained a British colony for ever...

Historically speaking, that’s why France is by far America’s closest ally and vice-versa.

Indisputable historical facts.

It’s not my propaganda.
For God’s sake it’s an OFFICIAL American signed Charter of Alliance with Ukraine! No one disputes this Charter.

If you dispute the veracity of this link, then we can also say the planet is flat.

“ Historically speaking, that’s why France is by far America’s closest ally and vice-versa.”

Oh…. that thinking is SO VERY, VERY, VERY FRENCH and untrue. The UK has CLEARLY been the USA’s closest ally for a couple of hundred years following that minor unpleasantness where the Brits set fire to the White House.

Who is paying YOU to propagandize directly and/or indirectly for the success of an illegal war waged by RUSSIA.

There is no ‘legal’ or ‘illegal war. Perhaps an unjust or just war, but that’s about it…it’s war.

It’s been pointed out several times already and you fail to comprehend the way the U.S. Constitution addresses treaties. If it isn’t a treaty, then it’s it’s essentially a memorandum. Which for most of us, is viewed as worthless. When are you going to denounce the Kremlin Deep State which is America’s absolute arch enemy?

In all honesty, we have enough problems with our own Deep State here in the U.S. to be worried about the Kremlin’s Deep State. Since the EU is much closer to the Ukraine and the Kremlin, perhaps they should sort out their own problems for once. The U.S. has already sacrificed too many of our best because Europe can’t act like adults.

Are you on Americas and the West’s side?

I think it’s fair to say that the vast majority on here are on America’s side. As for the “The West”, many of them are part of the actual problem, and we’d much rather divorce ourselves from them as well.

Our founding Fathers made it clear to not get entangled with foreign nations wars…. the US Ukie “ alliance” violates our Constitution. Period, it will not end well for America- carry on corrupted, misguided war cheerleaders!… for all the world to see.

You may be allies with Nazis who build monuments to Ukrainian Nazi butchers, I most certainly am not.

I pray daily for the destruction of Nazi Ukraine.
