Russia’s deployment of more than 100,000 troops in the Lyman-Kupyansk area is not a threat to the Ukrainian military, Serhiy Cherevatyi, spokesperson for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told Radio Svoboda on July 18
“This problem is not new and the Ukraine Armed Forces have not given them any progress for many months, and have been hitting them hard,” Cherevatyi said.
“It wasn’t yesterday that 100,000 appeared. This number has existed for a long time, it can be a little more, a little less.”
Despite its size, the group is not well prepared and motivated, Cherevatyi stressed.
“Yes, it’s large and it’s necessary to take into account its size,” he said.
“However, this number is not an indicator of a threat or cause for fear.”

Well Ukraine youtubers told me yesterday that Russia is gaining some ground in that area, but not much. However, it is progress.
It appears Russia wants Ukraine to put more resources up there to take away from Bakhmut flanks.
