Kari Lake Files New Election Appeal To The Arizona Supreme Court
Epoch Times ^ | 07/17/2023 | Jack Phillips

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake filed an appeal to the Arizona Supreme Court in her election case as she claimed that 8,000 unreadable ballots were not configured properly during last year’s midterms.

In an appeal filed (pdf) with the state’s highest court, Ms. Lake alleged that the 8,000 ballots were either “duplicated or counted.” What’s more, they were also unreadable, her team contended.

“The ballot-on-demand printer investigation report by former Chief Justice McGregor (‘the McGregor Report’) found that ‘four printers randomly printed one or a few ‘fit to page’ ballots in the middle of printing a batch of ballots … [n]one of the technical people with whom we spoke could explain how or why that error occurred,'” said the appeal.

An expert for Mrs. Lake, a former Fox affiliate anchor, had “testified this ‘error’ could only result from malware or remote access and resulted in at least 8,000 misconfigured ballots, the vast majority of which were neither duplicated nor counted,” it added.

The defendants in the case, including Maricopa County officials and the Arizona secretary of state’s office, have not issued a public response or filing in the case.

Courts Have Little Appetite

While a number of her legal challenges have been rejected by state courts, Ms. Lake has said she would take her lawsuit to the U.S. Supreme Court if needed, although the top court has shown little appetite to take up election challenges since late 2020.

“This is, I believe, our best hope to get reform in our elections: my case,” she said in a recent interview. “I believe it’s the greatest election case. We have the truth on our side. We have tons of evidence. Yes, we haven’t had a judge rule in our favor. But it takes a lot of courage to make the right ruling on this case.”

Ms. Lake has never conceded the race to Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs, who was sworn into office earlier this year. At the same time, Ms. Lake has signaled in media interviews that she may be exploring a run for the U.S. Senate seat that is currently held by former Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) in what could be a three-way race between Ms. Lake, Ms. Sinema, and Rep. Reuben Gallego (D-Ariz.).

Her challenge comes as another court, in a separate, case ordered Ms. Lake’s and former Secretary of State candidate Mark Finchem’s teams to pay $122,200 in sanctions. U.S. District Judge John Tuchi in Phoenix wrote that former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz also has to pay about 10 percent of that fine because, according to Mr. Tuchi, Mr. Dershowitz signed off on a number of legal documents in the case.

“Failing to impose meaningful sanctions here might very well encourage others to follow suit by lending their credibility to documents filed in court without facing any real consequence if their certifications prove hollow or incomplete,” Mr. Tuchi wrote in his ruling. “The need for general deterrence is therefore significant.”

Mr. Dershowitz indicated to the Arizona Republic that he would appeal the order.

Ms. Lake and Mr. Finchem sued former Arizona Secretary of State Ms. Hobbs and officials in Maricopa and Pima counties in April 2022, in a bid to change the state and counties’ voting procedures. Mr. Tuchi dismissed the lawsuit in August. The Maricopa County officials named as defendants sought sanctions against Ms. Lake for trying to sow doubts about the then-upcoming 2022 elections.

Defamation Lawsuit

It comes also as Stephen Richer, the Maricopa County recorder, filed a defamation lawsuit at the end of June against Ms. Lake, saying that he’s faced “violent vitriol and other dire consequences” because of “lies” spread by her, including death threats and the loss of friendships.

The problem with responses like yours is you offer no alternatives to the current system other than to complain about it.

I’ve made an attempt to offer multiple alternatives, you have offered nothing but complaints.

Create a ballot harvesting operation at least comparable to the Democrats

That is absolutely illegal, and *REPUBLICANS* will go to prison if they copy the Democrats.

But you strike me as someone who does not understand *HOW* the Democrat "ballot harvesting" operation works. If you did, you would not suggest such an idea without telling us how to break the law and get away with it.

I could keep going but to keep challenging the outcome of elections is a proven losing strategy

Thanks in a large part to people like you who simply listen to the media liars rather than look at the actual evidence of fraud that is available.

Ballot harvesting is perfectly legal in some states, in fact only 1 state says only the actual voter can return the ballot. Your assertion that is absolutely illegal is absolutely wrong.

Meaning some form of ballot harvesting is legal in 49 states. 11 states don’t mention who can actually return the ballot.

https://ballotpedia.org/Ballot_harvesting_laws_by_state

I would suggest it’s you that has ZERO how ballot harvesting works or where it’s legal and who can actually ballot harvest.

What part does doesn’t Kari lake, President Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, etc. etc. understand? All the judges have been compromised all of them! You all don’t understand how extremely powerful and I mean powerful LAWFARE and PROJECT 96 or 666 can’t remember the number, have become! Those two self made evil institutions threaten lawyers and judges from representing conservative clients, and God forbid if they should rule favorably for them. Think… Why do you think Trump has not been able to get one victory in all the courts that he has appealed his case. Now do you see what’s going on. Those days are over hiring neutral fair lawyers and having your case heard in front of law abiding fair judges. They all come from the same demonic liberal law college institutions (club) that brainwashed sheeples. The constitution means diddley squat to them it’s only good to use as toilet paper. If you think I’m just talking fairytale stuff here think again my friends go watch Alan Dershowitz video titled will trump be able to hire a good lawyers or get fair representation? He nails it! Trump unfortunately has hired mediocre lawyers….the bottom of the barrel because top lawyers are terrified of representing him. They have been warned they will no longer be received into the “club” and in some cases they will be disbarred. I’m beginning to think trump’s team are also part of the lawfare collusion strategy club giving Trump bad advice. Not one win has Trump gotten from appealing his cases. AND don’t think for one minute that the judge in Florida will be fair-minded, you all are going to be in shock when she comes out against Trump. They did it in Georgia with nine Republican judges to one Democrat and will happen in Florida too.. and everywhere else. The word is out rule in trump’s favor and you’ll be cut off at the knees. I have no delusion that Trump will escape what’s coming down the road. The only thing we can do is pray that God will intervene. Other than that he’s cooked. There is no justice for him. The odds are stacked against him, because of the evil that runs in our law institution. 🙏🏻 Pray for trump and our nation. That’s all we can do.

I’ve done that already multiple times in this same discussion thread; I’m not going to keep repeating it, so you don’t have to go back through my responses and learn for yourself.

I've read every comment in this thread, and I saw nothing where you addressed corrupt officials in Arizona. You are ignoring the main problem and offering solutions that do not acknowledge what we are actually facing.

Since the Arizona Court System has rejected every one of her legal challenges, what is your strategy or do you even have one other than to complain about it.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant for corruption.

Yes, we keep *TALKING* about it. We keep repeating over and over and over again that Arizona is corrupt, and it needs to be investigated and the corruption rooted out.

We bring the light of day to the problem and we demand the corruption be eliminated.

What we *DO NOT DO* is ignore it and pretend it didn't happen.

The problem with responses like yours is you offer no alternatives to the current system other than to complain about it.

If you are going to solve a problem, you must first understand the nature of the problem.

No rational man can look at what they have done to Kari Lake and conclude it was anything but serious corruption in the election system.

Your "solutions" do not deal forthrightly with this issue, but instead attempt to pretend it isn't the primary problem with winning an election in Arizona.

Do I have a clear, simple solution? No, but that doesn't make the problem go away. The problem may be intractable, and at this point if it cannot be solved by exposing the corruption, it may be the only possible way to solve it is with force.

I think the more reasonable approach at this time is to constantly talk about it and demand something be done about. Do not concede the point that the election was orchestrated through fraud, and keep the social pressure up until we can say for certain that we cannot solve this peaceably.

You’re wrong, the way to change the system is to get different people in charge and you have to win elections to do that.

Republicans are losing too many winnable elections and something needs to be done.

All you is criticize my ideas and offer none of your own solutions

Ballot harvesting is perfectly legal in some states,

It should be legal in *NO* states because it violates the chain of custody of ballots. It is an obvious method of inserting fake ballots into the system.

Your assertion that is absolutely illegal is absolutely wrong.

Stop. Just stop. You clearly do not understand what I mean when I say the Democrat methodology of "ballot harvesting" is absolutely illegal. You assume I am talking about just gathering up valid ballots and turning them into "drop boxes."

That is absolutely not what I am talking about. That is *NOT* what Democrats do.

It is a tedious process to relate to you all the various methods the Democrats use for corrupting this process, and one would have hoped you already knew what they were before you engaged in this discussion, but you clearly do not know how they do it.

Firstly, they register fake voters often with fake addresses such as parking lots, commercial buildings and sometimes just completely made up addresses. They register illegal voters, incompetent voters such as senile nursing home residents, they register dogs, cats and made up imaginary people.

They then fill out the ballots for all these fake imaginary "voters", and dump them into the drop boxes where they are counted as actual voters. We've seen this trick used in many elections, including in Arizona.

They get away with it because Democrat DAs won't prosecute or even investigate this sort of vote fraud.

But if a Republican did this, they would immediately be arrested and go to prison.

Hopefully my brief explanation as to their various methods of vote fraud will have better informed you as to what we are dealing with.

No amount of "ballot harvesting" is going to beat this corruption tactic, unless you go over the legal line the way they do.

I didn’t misread anything you were wrong about ballot harvesting

Absolutely it should be illegal but it’s not and the Republicans should do everything legally possible to take advantage of the laws is negligent and gives the Democrats a major advantage

Of corrupt election officials in Arizona? Where did you mention that?

you just don’t agree with it and offer ZERO alternatives, other than to complain about it.

I generally avoid offering advice that clearly won't address a problem I am trying to solve. A placebo won't help us here. We need actual solutions, not wishful thinking.

It’s not my problem you don’t understand alternatives.

I understand that what you are suggesting is not an "alternative", it is a pacifier. We need an actual alternative to tolerating election corruption.

You’re wrong, the way to change the system is to get different people in charge and you have to win elections to do that.

Do you have a grasp of cause and effect?

If the elections are corrupt and rigged, how are you going to win them?

Republicans are losing too many winnable elections and something needs to be done.

Like Arizona? Are you daft? That thing has been shown to be corrupt so many different ways you have to be either working for the other side, or some sort of idiot to believe it was legit.

All you is criticize my ideas and offer none of your own solutions

The only plausible solution I see to the problem is provoking the wrath of the people and getting them to scare the corrupt election officials straight.

Every corrupt bastard in Arizona would tremor in fear if the wrath of the public was aroused against them, but it is people like you who keep trying to calm the public by pretending all is well instead of making them understand everything is corrupt and evil, and the public needs to do something about it.

You are not helping. You are unwittingly assisting the enemy. (I assume it is unwitting.)

Scaring them is your solution ??

Losing an election and getting booted out of office usually is enough to scare elected officials

Just how exactly would you scare the officials and what exactly would they be scared of ??

I offer tangible advice and you offer is to scare people and I’m the one who doesn’t understand the problem

We are dealing with people that are corrupt to the core: exercise mind control, lie, steal, kill babies, cut up perfectly healthy bodies, and basically embrace any and all things anti-Jesus Christ. Yet they spout off in terms that proclaim they are virtuous.

And how do they accomplish all of those things?

They have no fear of punishment.

They need to have fear of punishment.

Losing an election and getting booted out of office usually is enough to scare elected officials

Again, do you have difficulty grasping the difference between "cause and effect"?

If you can't win elections because elections are rigged, then you will never boot them out of office.

Am I speaking Klingon here? Do you not understand as long as these people are willing to cheat in elections, you will *NEVER* get them out?

You have to make them stop cheating or resign, and I don't see much hope for making them resign.

Just how exactly would you scare the officials and what exactly would they be scared of ??

The Wrath of the people. Show up in force at public meetings and denounce them as corrupt! Make them understand that the public will not tolerate more election "shenanigans".

This is what people have been doing in school board meetings with some degree of success. We need protests of their offices and we need to confront them in the streets.

Do you not have the slightest idea how to be an activist?

I offer tangible advice...

Oh it's "tangible", in that we can actually see it and actually do it, but it doesn't actually fix anything, so it would be more like the stuff Rinos have been doing in Washington which is intended just to appease people while not actually solving anything.

and I’m the one who doesn’t understand the problem.

And yes, you've made it quite clear that you don't understand the problem.
