Just an all-around, classy city.

Surely you're joking. My daughter lived there for 5 years or so after moving from Kansas to Austin. From my many trips there it reminded me of Berkeley in California, only a pale imitation. Bunch of liberal weirdos, and a tiny downtown.

There is no there, there (like the quote about Oakland). Spread out over many miles, boring, boring and more boring. My daughter is back in California and glad she left Austin. Granddaughter spent 3 weeks there, and returned last Saturday; she was bored. When I think classy, I don't think about Austin.

Those “liberal weirdos” give the city character. I love the boutique restaurants, shops, and buskers or musicians playing with the hat out for tips.
No wonder why conservatives never win the culture wars and are always depicted as Leave it to Beaver tight butts.
