Maybe SCOTUS needs their own Ruling Compliance Division with the authority to arrest anyone who violates their rulings.
This is something that SCOTUS is going to have to address, and it goes far beyond gun control issues. When they make a ruling, and government loses, why should it take years for a new case to work its' way back up the chain when said government tries to institute a blatant end run around the court's ruling? And why should there not be sanctions meted out against against those government agencies engaged in that conduct?

I completely agree. SCOTUS sets the “Law of the land”, why should government be immune to these same laws?
They won’t though... They sold their souls to the same demons government did.
