Jeffrey Katzenberg, Hollywood mogul with deep China ties, wife drop over $1.7M to Biden’s reelection bid

A former Disney CEO and his wife recently donated more than $1.7 million to a joint fundraising committee authorized by Biden's campaign, despite their deep ties to China.

Biden’s campaign announced on April 25 that former Disney and DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg would serve as one of its national co-chairs.

Two days later, on April 27, the Biden Victory Fund, the campaign’s joint fundraising vehicle, received a donation totaling $889,600 from Katzenberg’s wife, Marilyn.

Katzenberg has deep and longstanding ties to China's communist government.. potentially presenting a problem .. over the country’s human rights abuses and as analysts continue to warn of the threat that China poses to U.S. national security.

According to Katzenberg, he visited China every month for years while running DreamWorks Animation.

Biden also played a central role in pushing Hollywood's entry into Chinese markets during the Obama administration, meeting with Xi multiple times during the Chinese leader's trip to the U.S. in 2012 — with Katzenberg often showing up.

Katzenberg's presence at events with Xi reflected "the access Katzenberg had to the Obama administration," Aynne Kokas, author of the book "Hollywood Made in China" and a film industry scholar, told the Los Angeles Times, noting that the Hollywood producer raised millions of dollars for the Obama-Biden ticket.

However, the deal triggered an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission into DreamWorks Animation and other studios for possible violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by allegedly bribing Chinese officials to gain access to the Chinese market. Little information has been publicized about the probe.

He wasn’t actually of CEO, he was Chairman of Walt Disney Animation Studio. The actual CEO at the time was Michael Eisner.

Aside from that, Katzenberg was largely bad news for Disney. For starters, he was the reason Linda Woolverton’s a screenwriter for Disney (and you might remember her as being the lady who ruined the live action Alice and Wonderland and the Maleficent movies by turning them into misandric propaganda films). In fact, he rewrote Beauty and the Beast to be a feminist propaganda film after critics allegedly complained about Ariel being “cloyingly sexist” for even WANTING to go for Eric at all even after she saved his butt twice, hence Woolverton’s hiring by him. He also nearly got Pixar shut down by forcing them to adopt a Family Guy-esque mean-spirited film when they were making Toy Story. And Pocahontas, his final pet project? He literally used Howard Zinn’s talking points in that film. He was also in charge of the live action studios and was notoriously responsible for more than a few live action bombs on his watch, costing roughly $250 million, and that wasn’t even counting the additional $250 million lawsuit expenses that Disney was forced by Katzenberg to pony up where this was uncovered. He’s basically the same class, or rather, crass as Greg Berlanti, the guy who ruined Teen Dramas and DC Comics TV series.

And didn’t Oppenheimer also go to the New York Ethical School? Well, that goes to show anyone who went there needs to be barred from hiring. In fact, you could argue he’s a prototype to Bob Iger who is currently running Disney into the ground by pushing his far left politics at the expense of the actual studio, including forcing bombs out. Almost a bit fitting Biden nominated THOSE two to be ambassadors to China since they certainly were the types to screw up things.

He caused the Disney Renaissance? If anything, the Renaissance happened in SPITE of Katzenberg.
