It appears that at least one side of the bridge involving two lanes has been completely separated.

At approximately 2024 EST, reports began to emerge of at least two explosions in the sky over Kerch, Crimea. At 2104 EST, locals began to report on social media that a general alarm had sounded for all civilians to clear the bridge and evacuate the area.
At 2125 EST, Republic of Crimea Head Aksyonov confirmed the bridge had been shut down and law enforcement agencies were on scene. Although no fire was reported, he did announce that a partial bridge collapse had occurred around the 145th support beam. By 2140 EST, local media reported that at least two had been killed in the collapse.
This is developing.
This is the same bridge that targeted earlier in the war by Ukrainian partisans. On 8 October 2022, at 6:07 am, a fire broke out on the Crimean Bridge as a result of an explosion, which occurred on the road bridge, on or under the westbound vehicle lanes running from Russia to Kerch in Russian-occupied Crimea. Two two-lane vehicular spans of the bridge collapsed into the water. Two adjacent eastbound lanes on a separate structure survived. The railway bridge was also significantly damaged by fire on railway tanker cars. Five people w
Crimea now cut off from the Russian mainland.
That is true- though the prior bombing was outright terrorism. Hopefully Putin reciprocates- his lack of ruthlessness versus his fellow Slavs has been a tremendous handicap and extended the war.
"Social media (unconfirmed)"
Calling it unconfirmed, giving a location where the incident has occured.
It will have an effect on movement of supplies into the Kherson/Zaporozhia area. Since the highways and railroads from Donetsk are already under bombardment, and the ports on the Sea of Azov likewise, this is another route that’s been interdicted.
This leaves just ports in Crimea, and probably the Kerch ferries as supply routes that are not yet under attack. But I have not heard that these are in use for this purpose.
It does not require 100% interdiction of all supply routes to have a military effect.
It all depends of course on what the actual damage is.
“The Kerch bridge attack is deliberate targeting of civilians.”
Russian civilians in Crimea are enemy invaders and they deserve whatever happens to them. Let them go back to Russia and live in peace.
Rail traffic also cut off from mainland Russia to Crimea.
"Traffic stopped on Crimean Bridge amid reports of explosion"
"Updated 10:26, 17-Jul-2023""Traffic was stopped on the Russian-built Crimean Bridge linking the Crimean peninsula to the Russian region of Krasnodar due to "an emergency" situation, Russia-installed Governor Sergei Aksyonov said on the Telegram messaging app early on Monday."
"No further detail was offered by the governor and residents were advised to refrain from traveling across the bridge."
Something is going on that’s for sure the need to escalate this war never ends.
It’s 1941 in that playground in Joe Biden’s mind and that’s OK I guess for a lot of folks who have “Republican” next to their names as well.
"Traffic stopped after ‘incident’ on Crimean Bridge – governor"RT, Russian state news, is starting to report on the incident."Sergey Aksyonov said that the bridge has been closed for traffic due to an “incident” on Monday morning"
Lack of ruthlessness?
The Russian army and air force have demonstrated a surfeit of ruthlessness. The mass bombardment of the city of Kharkiv for instance, with indiscriminate volleys of thousands of unguided 220mm Uragan rockets.
Just one case out of an endless litany.
+1.
I wonder why these so-called Americans have such an attachment to a corrupt, third world backwater? LOL- actually there are very specific reasons for most of them- but cannot mention on FR. Many of them bear very specific ethnic grievances going back to the Tsar.
They’ll just use the other lanes. Or alternate east and west every two hours or so. No big.
And some decision making full of Brits center will get blasted with missiles.
Hah! You beat him by one post.
“It’ll sever the direct ground transportation link between Russia and Crimea, and make logistics for the southern Ukraine front nearly impossible.“
” a corrupt, third world backwater”
Do you mean Russia? Yes, I too find that very odd.
Oh no! The unrepairable bridge.
