A fantasy. It is an absurd lie that Ukrainians did not want to be free of Russia (as do all its present and former republics). And you try and claim that as a justification for armed invasion? Ridiculous! Do you also contend the Poles “blew up the Gleiwitz radio tower”?
That sort of absurd immoral conjecture being accepted by weak minded people of questionable resolve is why evil is able to flourish.
If Russians in Ukraine are so supportive of Russia as to support invasion and conquest then they should be returned to Russia! And that goes for all Russians in countries outside Russa. They should all be expelled back to Russia. But of course they don’t want that! If they actually supported Russia they would have returned already. So they just mouth absurdities and agitate against the freedom and liberties of other people in their own countries.
The whole argument is silly.
Such a mindset requires the US then fight in every conflict across the globe. Otherwise we are hypocrites regardless because we can’t and wont fight every war, so then I ask, what reason justifies fighting in some and not others? If our first premise was we have to because they were invaded, we have a lot more “waring” to do, so many rights to wrong.
Of course this fails to accept not all wars have a right and a wrong side, sometimes both sides are horribly wrong.

The draft is not going to be reinstated over Ukraine (or Taiwan). There’s no war we would fight with another nuclear power that would need us to add combat brigades or would inflict a greater number of casualties than our volunteer recruiting pipeline or ability to reassign personnel.
With or without a draft, we’re probably looking at 24+ months to stand up a new combat brigade. From the introduction of legislation, at least 18 months to get combat-useful E2s and O1s into platoons, and to have NCOs and more senior officers moved over and replaced in the losing units. Defense contractors at least 18 months to get trucks, armor, artillery, light arms, comms, food, and health equipment and materials in place, and that’s a hurculean effort. Then six months to train to a deployable condition.
There’s zero use case for draftees for the Air Force, Navy or Coast Guard. In those branches, enlisted people maintain and support the operation of metal, and we have zero ability to add metal. It’s five years from order to delivery of a combat ship or plane.

The reserves have all been on active duty since Trump called them up before he left DC. He Federalized them. Biden isn’t calling up jack squat. Its just a piece of paper.
Trump is the only major politician who is unambiguously, and loudly, opposing this war.
He either simply has the good sense to see that this is a disaster in the making with no reasonable US interest at stake, or has his finger on the pulse of the Republican base.
Either way, it’s good to at least have one politician making sense on this.

No I’m not at all confused. I’m informed. The reserves have been federalized for 3 years. They are currently actively positioned in 27 states for reasons we don’t yet know. The ones in California are not from California. The ones in Texas are not from Texas etc. etc. The summer maneuvers story is for people who are uninformed.

Are there no reservists in the town where you live? You could just go ask one when their last deployment was, and you would become truly informed.
