CEO FIRES 90 PERCENT OF SUPPORT STAFF, SAYING AI OUTPERFORMS THEM

Suumit Shah, a 31-year-old CEO of an e-commerce platform called Dukaan based in India, is getting torn to shreds online for firing 90 percent of the company's customer support staff after arguing that an AI chatbot had outperformed them.

It was an unusually callous announcement that clearly didn't sit well with plenty of netizens, as Insider reports.

"We had to layoff [sic] 90 percent of our support team because of this AI chatbot," he tweeted. "Tough? Yes. Necessary? Absolutely."

In a lengthy Twitter thread laden with screenshots from action movies such as "iRobot" and "Limitless," Shah argued that response times plummeted from over two hours to less than two minutes thanks to the AI chatbot.

“You sure are quick with the insults.”

It’s just so easy to insult morons. You guys set yourselves up for it.

Capital builds things. Speculation on gambling in the stock market does not. It is wasted capital potential. Your money buying a ridiculously priced stock in no way helps the company or provides capital to anyone. Companies see none of that money. Your money never becomes capital. It stays in the gambling pot.

My first thought is Fantastic, no more Indian support that don't know American English and cannot answer questions or solve problems. Second thought is that those fired Indians will now rush to the Mexican border to enter the US illegally.

More money for cartels selling American citizenship in exchange for... for... DNA proof Crack delivered weekly to the White House? For Billions of 'walking around money' to keep 'elites' on the kiddie rape plantation?

I wonder if we'll ever know who's being paid off and for how much....

People, especially the younger generation, who insist on working remotely and refuse to come into the office might find themselves the first to go. Out of sight, out of mind.

They do deserve that rep, but if ChatGPT is any indication, replacing all agents with AI customer service will be worse at its worst.

What concerns me is that everyone is rushing to adopt AI when it objectively is still a POS. That will have consequences.

ChatGPT makes up crap, then denies it made it up when you ask. If you really push and tell it is wrong and what the right answer is, it will accept it was wrong and apologize, but that’s only because it’s been tweaked to be agreeable. The whole thing is a mess.
