Yep, some here do that - also “did you serve”, or “are you a doctor”. I suspect it’s also against the rules to demand someone divulge personal information. It also STUPID to require only ‘experts’ or ‘locals’, for the in case of Florida, that would EXCLUDE 93% of the country from the conversation (and actually more if one excluded Floridians living in apartments and condos).
