Is the 2024 Election the Last Gasp for America?

Monty Python’s 1979 hit movie “Life of Brian” featured a song about optimism:

Some things in life are bad

They can really make you mad

Other things just make you swear and curse

When you're chewing on life's gristle

Don't grumble, give a whistle

And this'll help things turn out for the best

Always look on the bright side of life

One might apply this to politics and current events.

Are you optimistic that America is just in a phase that we will get through, that things will soon return to normal or we don’t grumble and just give a whistle?

Or are we watching the end of the American experiment, in keeping with the adage that empires last no longer than 250 years before crumbling into totalitarianism or chaos?

Is looking on the bright side of geopolitical and economic life wishful thinking, denial of reality?

The American economy is in freefall,  Washington, D.C. is spending money we don’t have. Our borders are nonexistent with millions streaming across, many unskilled, illiterate, disease-carrying, criminal, or potential enemy combatants.

We are already engaged in World War III by proxy against the largest nuclear power in the world, for no discernable U.S. national interest other than enriching the military-industrial complex and politicians.

Social norms and traditions are out the window, where men can claim to be women just because they say so, in defiance of biology and common sense, and we must shut up, agree, as well as praise their courage.

Government has been weaponized against political opponents in the manner of the Soviet Union or East Germany, where an elite ruling class exempts itself from justice and the Constitution, while any opposition is crushed under the jackboot of a tyrannical government.

Elections are rigged, not as a conspiracy theory, but in the opinion of most Americans.

In 16 months, there will be a major election that will determine whether America displays a bright side of life or more gristle. Not only a presidential election, but all the House, a third of the Senate, as well as hundreds of state governors, legislatures, attorneys general, secretaries of state, and local officials.

If sanity doesn’t return to American culture and governance, where are we headed? Can the elections even be trusted?

Are electoral outcomes predetermined? Are voting machines still connected to the internet? Will thousands of undeliverable ballots be harvested by postal workers, delivered to unknown locations, to be filled out by Democrat operatives and delivered to selected precincts, run through vote tabulators multiple times until the preordained candidate takes the lead?

Democrats aren’t even concerned about the 2024 election. Biden has few campaign workers and no headquarters. Why should he? He already has the necessary votes, as he did in 2020, confident that his vote tally will exceed that of any opponent. For Democrats, the fix is in, the campaign is theater. Has Trump or the GOP fixed anything since 2020 effecting a different outcome?

They’ve had four years to refine the cheating to make it more difficult to overcome and prove.

I think 2016 may have been the last free election in America. I don’t know how you guys will overcome what has happened.

No. I don’t see any changes made. I also do not see repentant democrat voters....rather I see more anger in them against conservatives.

Some states have tightened up their voting and election standards.

It goes state by state; Trump couldn’t do anything about state election processes, even when he was president.

I think last gasp happened sometime between 1988 and 1996, and possibly earlier.

Reagan is the only person who made up ground generally, although Trump did so in some areas and gets very high marks for the Indian Summer of the Court.

The US has a history of periodically reinventing itself in ways that no one could have foreseen.

In a word—YES. The Dimmycrats have learned the art of cheating well, and now that they have all the power—they will NEVER give it up? If a Dimmycrat or their allied RINOLIBERALs do not win—The FBI will arrest or take out the silly person who thinks he has a chance. Just watch what they are doing to Trump? I’m not optimistic. The democrats are not worried. The campaign is theater, a side show. Plenty of followers(roadies) to do the grunt work and heavy lifting. On our side we just want to be left alone in a world where trouble will find you no matter what.

Democrats had an election to elect themselves in perpetuity. The governor of Wisconsin just took a two year school funding bill and removed the cost caps and put it into law for the next 400 years. No votes or Walmart smelly public is involved. A 400 year Long blank check.

Sorry, but they also cheated in 2016. The reason they lost is the "cheat code" was deliberately made conservative because nobody in their right mind was going to believe Hitlery could win in a blow-out. But the demoncrats failed to realize how popular Trump was, and how universally hated Hitlery is, and the cheat code wasn't capable of stealing that many votes.

Which explains why Hitlery was so adamant that Trump must've cheated. Because she knew she had cheated, so she couldn't imagine how else she might have lost.

The demoncrats and Dominion refined the cheat code and gave it its shake-down cruise in the 2018 Texas mid-term elections. The new algorithm proved it was up to the task, regardless how many votes the demoncrat candidates lost by, which put the Neo-Marxists in the catbird seat for the 2020 presidential election.

Those who are not awake will eventually wake up when they feel the pain. But most of them will not comprehend why they are suffering.

The pain will definitely slap them awake.

I understand they cheated in 2016 as well. However, your electoral system and voting system were still robust enough to overcome the cheat factor. Now with electronic voting, they can produce enough votes on the fly to overrule the American will.
