Governor DeSantis, with his courage, conviction, ability to think before acting and (save for some justified defensive comments) absence of nasty insults to other GOPers (meaning tact, diplomacy, and acting presidential) is more like President Ronald Reagan than any GOPer since Reagan. And Mister Trump (with foolish whoppers such as he can end the Ukraine war in 24 hours, but won’t say just how), is the least like President Ronald Reagan.

Keep in mind Trump is from New York—if you adjust for that, the “whoppers” are forceful ways of saying that he’d really like to do something if he could and maybe he can.

I don’t like New York, but you need to adjust for culture when you are listening.

Full swamp rats simply say whatever they think you want to hear. Trump isn’t quite that bad, and I don’t think he will go full swamp rat, which makes him better than anyone since Reagan.

Governor DeSantis... is more like President Ronald Reagan than any GOPer since Reagan. And Mister Trump... is the least like President Ronald Reagan.

I am paraphrasing for brevity, your complete post is a few lines up for those who missed it.

In my opinion, as a huge Reagan fan with Newspaper articles and letters from the Reagan Whitehouse to prove it, your argument does not ring true. Although there are certainly major differences in style, President Trump is the only Republican since President Reagan who has had the charisma to energize people in the way that he does. I do not always agree with President Trump or his mannerisms, but different times require different styles. The primary parallel however is that both President Trump and President Reagan cared deeply for their fellow men and women and the United States of America and communicated this better than any other Republicans in the last 50 years.

It is interesting that you call President Trump's comments about getting the United States out of the Ukraine conflict in 24 hours a “whopper”. It brings up another odd parallel. As I recall President Reagan made similar comments about the quagmire that Carter had gotten us into in Iran. He faced similar criticism and ridicule, but on January 20, 1981 the hostages were released.
