Interesting. Both big red states that featured a closing were “Market concept” types of stores. Not sure what that means.
I was not in the least bit surprised to see that many in Illinois.
These are WalMart lites. Much like typical grocery store. Food and a few household essentials.
No electronics sections, automotive, clothing, hardware etc.
It is just a smaller store usually in a smaller town/city-like the original Walmart stores were...
Neighborhood stores, smaller, 99% food, reduced choices. We have one close by and visit it every week. Pretty good produce, easy in and out vs. getting in and out of the large stores. Speaking of large, visited the walmart ay year ago up in Gloucester, VA and it’s the largest one I’ve ever been in. I could not get over how huge it was.
