Speaking of spyware, I wonder if documents, for example Word documents, contain location information such as your computer’s IP address in the file’s metadata.
If so, big bro’ could just look at copies of a document (its metadata, that is) and see where the document came from, and when it was created and last edited.

“I hope that we succeed, and this sets a precedent, and that, in the future, no government even considers tracking Americans’ movements 24/7 without their knowledge or consent.”
Now that’s funny right there.

People get shot for doing stuff like this. Or at least, they should be.
Serious.

“The NSA captures 100%”
yes the nsa has been capturing 100% for a long time ...
my point .... due to constraints on processor speed , the MOUNTAIN of data still provides some anonymity ...
hiding in the crowd so to speak.
Soon that will be overcome.
Then we go real time ...everyone ... every where .. all the time

We are in the early days of complete government control..We need to be patient while they work out the kinks and glitches.

I don't think you understand the picture. There IS ample processing power to process ALL of the voice into text, and then scan for keywords in context. If a hit is made on the keywords, the conversation is forwarded to a human operator. That conversation is examined, and action taken as deemed necessary. Most action merely places the persons in questions on a list of one sort or another. If the conversation is deemed important it is paced in long term storage. Otherwise, it is retained for a short time. They know the people in the call. Each message self identifies with the stream. The stream identifies with the phone.
I have had a conversation with by brother intercepted automatically. I promise, it happens.
