Republicans are looking to recruit moderate and experienced candidates for Senate races in 2024 to avoid a repeat of losses in the 2022 midterms, GOP campaign experts and conservative commentators told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), the GOP’s campaign arm responsible for Senate elections, is looking to place moderate nominees with elected experience in competitive races, experts told the DCNF. An emphasis on electability offered by experienced candidates, they said, is essential to winning — unlike novice candidates subscribing to former President Donald Trump’s brand of populism. In the 2022 midterm elections, Trump’s endorsement helped several populist candidates in Arizona, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Georgia win primary races over moderate candidates. All of them went on to lose their elections, which observers ascribed to their Trump-style views that were unpalatable to general election voters, with a “red wave” failing to materialize.
The concern has led to “electability” as being a top priority for candidates endorsed by the NRSC. A spokesperson for Republican Sen. Steve Daines of Montana, the NRSC’s chairman, told the DCNF that his “number one priority is recruiting candidates who can win a primary and a general election.”

I wouldn’t give a dime to these fabian republican candidates.
I want patriotic, traditionalist, Christian, native born Americans.
No doubt. For example Maine is never going to elect a conservative.
So electing a Moderate is the best one can get. I get that.
“Because of Democrat voter fraud.”
And the RNC - and even many here, didn’t go all-in to support the candidates we had - “principles” they called it.
Moderates = Republican who are really Democrats, but won’t say it!
Yah, RINO’s Unite!!!!
Correlation is not causation. Just because PDJT endorsed some candidates that failed doesn’t mean it was *because* he did.
This is just the RNC machine still trying to purge PDJT and act as though he isn’t popular. He isn’t, with them. Neither are they, with us.
The party is no longer needed at this point. Replace it with the MAGA Party.
Well, you are definitely in the minority among republican voters.
Unfortunately, there is some truth to all this. Look at what happened in Michigan just a year ago. Trump, Guilliani and the pillow guy got some ridiculous candidates and they got slaughtered. Michigan Republican party, and the State, is set back 10+ years. It may even lead to Whitmer to president
Other possibility: Allen West
PA can be won,but only with ballot harvesting.
Mitch McConnell actually help them more than Donald Trump did.
Yep.
How much money did Trump donate to helphis endorsed candidates in the 2022 election cycle?
Mitch McConnell actually help them more than Donald Trump did.
Nonsense.
Former President Donald Trump’s super PAC donated $20 million this month to another PAC responsible for supporting Trump’s endorsed candidates.
Trump’s PAC, Save America, donated $20 million to Make America Great Again Inc. (MAGA-Inc), according to FEC filings released Oct. 27 (pdf).
How much did your boy Midge donate....out of his Senate Republicans war (to KEEP RINOs) chest/slush fund?
We DO know he donated to Liz Cheney.....the traitor House lefty.
And, did your honey happen to flip the Senate?
Your TDS is showing again, m-m-mamma.
No....make that your UniParty/RINO TDS....bwahahaha.
Keep nominating left-wing RINOs and you’ll have plenty of Commie RED tsunamis for the Demonrats.
Trump also won in 2020. He will win again in 2024.
Wave those white flags McRonna.
Moderate means Trans Dem like Romney and Collins, etc.
They’ll vote with Dems on omnibus budgets, big government spending, climate hoaxes etc al.
No thanks.
Y-you mean ever time I hit my head with this hammer, my brains will leak out the crack?/s
