I think Trump supporters and DeSantis supporters are sincere and believe they are doing what is best for the country.

I agree. I see this irritating tendency to demonize.

I have never once said I won’t vote for DeSantis if he is the nominee, but I have people constantly paint me as a “DeSantis hater” even though I think he does a fine job as governor, and the fact that if he were running I would vote for him.

And I see it going the other way too-people branding Freepers who support DeSantis with unflattering attributes.

I understand the negatives and positives of both candidates, and why people hold them, even if I disagree with them.

And as you said-I believe they hold those views because they care deeply about our country, which is more than can be truthfully said about “the other side”.
