And the US still gives these countries foreign aid and allows their less skilled workers to come here and take jobs from Americans
Why not? As long as they pay off the right people China can get anything it wants. USA is For sale—cheaper than any war. The people in charge do not see themselves as Americans—they have transcended themselves into “Citizens of the World.” A master race. a New Nobility of wealth beyond laws and nations—True Supermen (and woman) above all rules of man and god. They are GODS! Bow down and worship them.
Choosing between a currency linked to gold versus one whose issuing government has a national debt of 200 percent of GDP and both political parties bent on spending much, much more forever.
Hmmmmm.
“the US manufacturing revolution”
**************
Americans don’t want to return to working in an office much less going to work in a manufacturing plant all week. Sorry, I just just don’t see a stampede of anxious workers lined up outside the factory gates looking for jobs.
Its much easier living off of generous state and federal assistance programs.
I too would like to see an export boom. However, where are we going to get the workers and non-woke managers and executives that know how to compete in world markets. How many have sales experience in a foreign country(s) and really understand other cultures and have fluency in at least one foreign language.
Your comment is not serious.
As I write this, the US Dollar is trading at 101.91 against a basket of foreign currencies - almost a 20 year high.
Russia is a political dictatorship that lives off its sale of natural resources.
If you have a financial dispute with Russia, do you really plan to go to Moscow to argue your case?
GDP per capita - productivity per person - in the USA is 5X times higher than Russia.
“imho AI is far far more important that global gold backed currency. “
I disagree and agree. there is no such thing as AI it is a buzzword like fuzzy logic was 10 years ago.
I have tried to talk to the AI chatbots and they do not seem a lot better than the Eliza I modified in 1981, well ok they are better but certainly not close to intelligent and I am not sure they will be any time soon.
the Bing Bot won’t even talk to me unless I ask technical questions, it is pretty good with those.
There will not be a gold based currency, unless there is a complete collapse. Even then it might be a few hundred years later that people will use gold and siver again, but possibly not even then.
Will there be a blockchain based currency? possibly, but that makes it hard to steal through inflation, and the powers who need the stollen money will continue to resist allowing it, especially for the plebs
I know where professional financial traders are currently risking their OWN money.
As for investing in BRICS, there is great slogan on Wall Street...
"Being early is the same thing as being wrong!"
Always thought the US would be more like UK when they lost status. We’ll be the ones living quiet lives of desperation.
Russia is a political dictatorship that lives off its sale of natural resources.
If you have a financial dispute with Russia, do you really plan to go to Moscow to argue your case?
If you want to have massive financial losses from arbitrary gov’t moves on natural resources, you don’t have to go to Russia.
In fact, you get every gov’t in Globohomo working together against you.
Let’s stop this “backed by gold” nonsense right now. If a currency is not fully convertible it’s NOT “backed” by gold.
Convert all holdings into Clover Honey Ltd.
Right now we have no idea. If , as if in China, their people can walk into a government bank and buy gold with their Yuan , or you can bring your gold coin in and leave with Yuan.
That to me that is “ convertible”. At the consumer level, that is all that matters.
At the sovereign level, ( internationally) it would no doubt fail as the US learned- US gold was being withdrawn ( by other countries) and by financial entities and other countries thus severely depleting our supply.
“AI is far far more important that global gold backed currency.”
AI is hype by people who don’t know what AI is.
President jo bAIden..or is it hillary clAIton..is in the works. /s
Soon everyone will be on the gold backed system. Including the US.
Soon everyone will be on the gold backed system. Including the US.
—————-
More likely:
Soon everyone will be on the digital cashless currency system. Including the US.
Interesting...
You assume that we are not living in a Marxist country right now, despite all the evidence to the contrary: excessive central planning, fake elections, corruption, a two-tiered justice system - one for the party and another for you & I, comrade - an overly entitled elite, propaganda instead of news, massive manipulation of the currency by the central bankers, and massive behind-the-scenes censorship?
Wake TF up! You are living in the USSA.
And for the record, Russia’s GDP is significantly higher than Texas (my own Texas). However if we take the restrictions off of oil, we can readily compete.
Russia runs a surplus, and their move to a gold baked currency will only help them against USD, backed only by oil, especially since if we are no longer the petrodollar, things will go to hell fast.
Laugh all you want to but I suggest you check the rear view mirror. Our HORRID policies are allowing others to pass us. The present trend is NOT in our favor!
That said, the return of the real president - Trump - will reawaken the sleeping giant.
