“The military is going through a crisis with weight–since 2001 the number of soldiers who are classified as overweight has skyrocketed...”
Numbers at this point are not the intended issue. The first of the weight management and physical assessments problems were started right after the Vietnam action and were not based upon capacity to preform but appearance in uniform. During the drafting process the military ended up with a lot of people that didn’t want to stay in and their appearance displayed it. So the commanders in their chains were given the option of approving a person for re-enlistment based upon their opinions as to the appearance in uniform. So the appearance process of 35-11 was over ruled by 35-10. And this has been going on since the mid 1970’s.
As for physical standards, when the transition is completed for men going to women, they will, most likely, be expected to perform the PFI’s of women standards. And the women going to men will be forced to compete at the men’s standards. And those may have to be lowered for those transitioning members to be competitive as many women find it difficult to complete their PFI’s at lowered standards now.

Well we (US taxpayers) will all be paying that Big Pharma cost for ozempic. Some $900 a month for 4 shots. Then who knows what the trans drugs cost.
This military deserves to die.
