Likely way too little, way too late.
Should have done things like this instead of picking fights with Trump from the start. Trump was picking fights with him and he took the bait then started to pick his own fights with Trump which weren’t necessary. Bad strategy as many other before him showed. Not to mention other than his brief exchange with Newsome, he has been a different DeSantis - more cliche’ talking points style campaign vs. the bold governor who could explain his positions near flawlessly we came to know and love over the last 5 years.
So DeSantis should have stood idly by and let Trump define him? Uh, no.
DeSantis took Trump’s juvenile name-calling for quite a while until he finally responded.
