Trump is a big tent populist, he won in 2016 by making appeals outside of traditional Republican circles. DeSantis is trying to run as a more traditional social conservative which has a fairly low glass ceiling. GOP voters tend to group into social conservatives, foreign policy hawks or fiscal conservatives, Reagan's famous three legged stool.
Ron's looking more like Rick Santorum than a winner as time goes on. Casey is leading this ad because Ron doesn't have the retail politics skills to appeal to voters and by having a woman pushing against the trans agenda it seem less angry and a bit more relatable.
