Wow. So their “ Climate Reanalyzer” can report the planet’s temperature to the nearest hundredth of a degree.

Exactly. There's a difference of the two measurements of 0.17 degree C. The measurement error is not reported but is certainly much greater.

On Wednesday, 38 million Americans were under some kind of heat alert, Kapnick said.

Scientists have warned for months that 2023 could see record heat as human-caused climate change, driven largely by the burning of fossil fuels like coal, natural gas and oil, warmed the atmosphere. They also noted that La Nina, the natural cooling of the ocean that had acted as a counter, was giving way to El Nino, the reverse phenomenon marked by warming oceans.

....Well chit live till you die and make the best of it.

“he University of Maine’s Climate Reanalyzer, a tool that uses satellite data and computer simulations to measure the world’s condition.”

If they “used”, not simply reported, data, they did not measure, they only calculated the “world’s condition”. And if they also used computer simulations, they did not even calculate; they only guessed.

The only real time I saw evidence of warming was back in around ‘97 when I was diving in Monterey, CA.
A warm current had come up from the south and you could actually swim in Monterey Bay without a wetsuit.
Tuna were being reported in Monterey Bay which is also unusual.

Things returned back to normal the next year.

Phoenix in 1950ties was a city of 50,000 people.
It exploded after the air-conditioning was put on use.
Apparently, people like hot weather!
The homeless in downtown seem to enjoy it even without the AC!

The sun is in it’s near cycle what did they expect it has a 11 year cycle.

Makes good pimping chaos heat numbers.

I have a question, looking for some expert here to answer.

Perihelion is the day of the year when the earth is closest to the sun. It comes each year in early January.

Aphelion is the day of the year when the earth is FARTHEST from the sun. Every year this is on July 6.

Am I nuts to wonder how the hottest day of all time could come on the very day of the year when the heat from the sun is coming from the most distant spot???

I am not a climate denier. We need to work on this. But on this I call transparently obvious BS ... unless someone can offer me some sort of explanation. I am open minded but skeptical.

I think that given proof of an “ice age”, it's a safe bet that non man made climate change is a natural occurrence and should be expected.

It all comes down to when you start:

This:

Versus this:

BTW, that's a 3 (1.5 warmer or colder each side) degree F scale on the last one...

It's a crock, based on some no-name guy in Maine. "Muh computer models say..."

Here's the actual satellite data through June, from the guy who implemented it, Dr. Roy Spencer (UAH):

Look especially at the last 8 years: No warming It's through June, and there's no way it just suddenly spiked the last 2 weeks. Main guy's idiocy will be debunked soon, by actual serious climate scientists, but the msm won't report it.

Your question is easy to answer.
Earth is on elliptical orbit close to a circle. The difference between perihelion and aphelion does amount to zilch. The weather is affected by axis incline and the wind pattern.
In January, it is hot in Australia, in July over here.
Southern hemisphere has less measuring stations so in average they do not account to much. Also the southern hemisphere has a lot of oceans who tame the temperature extremes.
According to Milankovitch, since the Northern Hemisphere has a lot more dry land, it actually determines the climate of the whole Earth. If Northern Hemisphere gets more sunshine, we get global warming, if less, we get global cooling and ice ages!

They only went back 83 years...so 1940

Not even that far. Even though the dataset used for the unofficial record goes back only to 1979…

I remember that day. I was working underground in Jerome at the time, and it was about 105 on the surface. Always around 65 down below, though.
