Legislation introduced by Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) would require Medicare to fully cover the costs of medically necessary equipment to people at particular risk during climate disasters.
The legislation, the Survival Aid for Emergencies (SAFE) through Medicare Act, covers equipment such as solar batteries and heat pumps that may be necessary for the survival of disabled and elderly people during disasters that cause power outages. The lawmaker duo noted that about one in three of the 4,500 deaths during 2017’s Hurricane Maria were attributed in part to power outages interfering with medical equipment.

We’re 31 trillion in debt
What is tgis wacko talking about?
No. Medicare is already running deficits and adding more unpaid-for benefits will only make a bad situation worse.
Adding any benefits the orginal finacial plan did not anticipate - leaving the FICA taxes and premiums alone- only brings the plan to insolvancy sooner.
Markey is such a thief and by all rights should be publicly hung. I say this as I grew up in Massachusetts and I know how big a piece of fecal matter he is. Check grabbing / never in his home state...CORRUPT as it gets...I loathe this man like all of the other scumbags that are DNC..and RINO’s.
Climate disaster?
Not knowing what is already provided- I have no problem with senior citizens on Medicare receiving reasonable extra supplies of batteries or O2 tanks ahead of or immediately after a hurricane. Not sure that isn't already provided-seems it should already be done on a state and local level.
No the thing to do here is to put Markey in the unemployment line.
