Ice cream company Ben & Jerry's sparked outrage with a July 4th tweet calling for the United States to return 'stolen indigenous land' starting with giving Mount Rushmore back to the Lakota Sioux tribe.
The company, which was founded by longtime Bernie Sanders allies Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenwood but has since been sold to British multinational Unilever, tweeted the message to its 494,000 followers.
'This 4th of July, it's high time we recognize that the US exists on stolen Indigenous land and commit to returning it,' the company's official account wrote.
Outrage was swift on social media following the tweet, with many disgusted by what they saw as anti-American sentiment on a day meant to celebrate the United States.
One commenter compared their statement to Bud Light partnering with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney - which saw the beer giant lose upwards of $20million in sales after causing massive controversy - and using the hashtag #boycottbenandjerrys.

I think that all of Ben & Jerry’s property be returned to the indians. Lead the way Ben & Jerry!!
Depends on the state of Islam during the time period. Are we talking about a bunch of Wahabbists? Then you wouldn't see any kind of scientific advancements. The Chinese would have been more likely to pursue technology.
"Hey! Don't forget about us! We're important, too! We're as woke as woke can be! Look at us!
Hitler confided to Albert Speer that he had wished Islam had taken over Europe, because if the Germanic people had adapted Mohammedism, they would have conquered the world, as oppposed to “flabby” Christianity.
Of course Islam had a lot in common with ancient Nordic Pagan beliefs, that the soldier who falls in battle would go to “Paradise”.
... And which other indigenous tribe did the Lakota conquer and take the land from? Why not give it back to them? Or the older tribes before them?
Thanks! A blast from my past.
Leftists have always had a bento box mentality.
How can I boycott Ben and Jerk*ff’s? I’ve never eaten that overpriced frozen slop to begin with.
I walk past the B & J ice cream to head straight to the Häagen-Dazs ice cream every time I’m at the store.
Wahhabism started in (what is now called) Saudi Arabia in the mid-18th century. I’m talking about 150-200 years before that time, and the Muslims I’m thinking of are Turks or Moors (or both), not Saudis.
tenants = people who rent a property
tenets = principles of belief in a faith or ideology
I know, right? I gave them up, including the most delicious Cherry Garcia pints, back in the early 90s.
But it matters. You are now Orthodox. If one of your daughters marries an observant Jew, and the other marries a secular liberal Jew, and both of them have children, do you not rejoice over the children raised to know Judaism, and worry about the children raised with progressive rebellion against G-d and hatred of fellow Americans? Belief is what separates them.
Unilever bought the company in 2000, after it was independent 22 years. Ben and Jerry are still employees of the company, thought not in charge.
Like B&J, Häagen-Dazs was founded by two Jewish people, but they are explicitly Zionist.
Ben & Jerry’s was forced to take “natural” off their label, because they use high fructose corn syrup, and other ingredients. But you might want to check the Häagen-Dazs label too.
Belief separates them. Jewishness does not. That remains a fact, whether practiced or not.
The Canadian stuff doesn’t, but we often get sugar rather than corn syrup

looks like the USA H-D is also corn free

Babylonian Talmud, Kidushin 68B, “Rabbi Yochanan said in the name of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, scripture states, Deuteronomy 7, verse 3, et seq.: ‘you shall not marry them (the nations) and you shall not give youor daughter to his son nor take his daughter for your son, for he will cause your son to err from following Me, and they will serve other gods...’ your son from an Israelite is called ‘your son,’ but your son from a gentile is not called ‘your son’.”
Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 43B, “Even if he has sinned, he is still an Israelite.”
