OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush once said that instead of older, 'ex-military submariners' hired by his rivals, he wanted a 'younger' and 'inspirational' team of 20-somethings for his Titanic submersible

Those are the same people. Stockton Rush was the CEO who drove the sub and designed the sub.

Me thinks Stockton Rush had no clue about submarines in water out of water maybe but not in water

A submarine made by engineers who were hired by merit:
Hey, Adam, this isn't right, we have to fix it now!
A submarine made by people who were hired because of racial preference:
Hey LaTrill, this piece is a bit smaller, but I think if use duct tape and caulking, it should be fine!
Guess which one OceanGate used??

He hired a surfer dude because he liked his stories or something
I worked for a guy like him. Pure narcissist.Hired young people because they didn't know any better that he was full of crap.Plus, he could hire more to surround himself with "admirers".

I’ve seen that!
If you can get out of there as quickly as possible.
If you can’t do it quickly put a personal plan together to do so.

many OceanGate employees were fresh graduates but seemed professional.
I think this CEO had to find people young and gullible enough to get on his deathtrap sub. The 50 year old white guys probably all said "Hell no, I'm not getting in that piece of sh**!"

Not so much enthusiasm but he didn’t want anyone to argue with him or even disagree. He was an arrogant, know-it-all ass and he is dead now because of it. Too bad others fell into his web and died as well.

The story of the Titan has origins in Greek mythology, where the Titans were the gods preceding the Olympians.
They were overthrown, defeated and banished to Tartarus - the deep abyss.

Typically, CEO’s are arrogant, narcissistic Aholes. What was un-typical about this was that the Aholes died for his arrogance.
That does not happen nearly often enough.
It is not like Icarus getting toasted ‘cause he was inspired to try something he thought would work. It was simply another entitled Ahole demanding that the world comply with his expectations.

Rush was driving the sub. He got what he paid for, unfortunately, he took 4 innocent men with him on his death wish.

He also hired a few young women who he’d take on 11 day trips. Just him and a gal. Yep, the oxygen would last a few more days with just two people instead of 5. Wonder what they’d do for that long?

They put their faith in titanium and carbon fiber but failed to question the transition region between the two dissimilar materials and nothing is being mentioned about the common glue that bound the carbon fibers. Was it the proper gorilla glue?

"In 2018, OceanGate's director of marine operations, David Lochridge, composed a report documenting safety concerns he had about Titan. In court documents, Lochridge said that he had urged the company to have Titan assessed and certified by an agency, but OceanGate had declined to do so, citing an unwillingness to pay.[51] He also said that the transparent viewport on its forward end, due to its nonstandard and therefore experimental design, was only certified to a depth of 1,300 m (4,300 ft), only a third of the depth required to reach the Titanic."
In a 2022 interview, Rush told CBS News, "At some point, safety just is pure waste. I mean, if you just want to be safe, don't get out of bed. Don't get in your car. Don't do anything."[46] Rush said in a 2021 interview, "I've broken some rules to make [Titan]. I think I've broken them with logic and good engineering behind me. The carbon fiber and titanium, there's a rule you don't do that. Well, I did."

I think you are wrong. Everybody involved with this disaster are going to have to hire lawyers..

It’s been described by Stockton Rush as a peanut butter thick style glue.
A very thick glue.
