The election was also marked by a large number of “null” votes that were greater than the total for any single candidate. The “null” votes were not assigned to any candidate as, according to the nation’s electoral law, they were votes where the voter’s intention could not be determined in the ballot.

We don’t have that problem..............................

Guatemala’s problems are not new or unusual for the region, but their persistence is generating voter frustration. As many as 13% of eligible voters plan to cast null votes Sunday, according to a poll published by the Prensa Libre newspaper.

Interesting… although this seems to be the correct response?

I think that if Null, or "None of the above" wins an election, the post should be vacant until the next election.
We need a way for voters to get rid of unnecessary politicians rather than being forced to vote for the lesser of two weevils.

“Null” would be more appropriately called “meh.”

All of the null votes in the Guatemala election were for Biden. Next year. They’ll be found after the polls close.

What’s the name of that movie with Richard Pryor where he had to spend 30 million to get 300 million? Much of the 30 million he spent ad a candidate telling everyone to vote for, ‘none of the above.’

Looks like you are now the President of Guatemala.

Congratulations, el Presidente!!

Can I have a cabinet post for USD $5 million dollars per year?

Thanks in advance! 😜

Things must be pretty bad in Guatemala if a plurality of people stood in line and voted for none of the above.

Same thing happened in the 1976 Democrat Iowa Caucus. Jimmy Carter. ame in second to “uncommitted”.
