F-16s are easy to fight. They land after about 2 hours. In America they land at what are basically unprotected bases. Their families live outside that base. They drive around in cars with “I’d rather be flying my F-16” bumper stickers.
They depend on contract maintenance and tech support and missile manufacturing that is fully unprotected in industrial parks.
The bases they fly from need deliveries by trucks, and truckers want no part of that. The F-16 pilots have parents and brothers and sisters who would not be pleased with them.
Some of the F-16 pilots are patriotic Americans who would be angered by this order (*see also; “Salvador Allende, Hawker Hunter Jets”) (*see also; Diem and “Madame Nhu and T-28 Trojan”)
So this fictional out of control US Government would have to seriously crackdown on the population. This causes the resistance to the F-16 war to grow. Now the idiots would be in a reverse reward loop.

There end game is to bring in foriegn Troops here. Millions. This will enrage the Population even more.
I’d like to be optimistic and say you are right.
But if you look at the past actions of the militarized parts of the FBI and ATF, and add to that the fact that Delta was at Waco, I’d say that US military bases in blue areas will likely support the D.C. Regime.
Back in Jr. High we had a teacher that was recently back from Vietnam. Every Friday he would spend the 50 minutes of class showing slides and talking about it.
He told stories (rated G) of being on patrol, etc. I recall the part he hated the most was when he had to escort pilots out to their planes (choppers?) and they would often get shot at by snipers.
