A bullet puncture, of course, doesn’t affect high-altitude balloons at all. This is due to the small density differential between the inside and outside of the gas bag.

Put a wingtip of a U2 spycraft into the envelope. The envelope will tear open. That envelope is so thin, the aircraft probably will not even feel it.
