Actually, Never Desantis is just a way of saying Only Trump. They would treat anyone with the slightest chance of defeating Trump the same way, calling them globalists, GOPe, Deep State, etc. They are offended if anyone with a chance to dethrone Trump opposes him. It just so happens that Desantis is the one with the best chance of doing that.
He will have to prove it, so will Trump.
