Cardin: Putin has ‘lost his credibility with his own people’
The Hill ^ | 06/25/2023 | Sarah Fortinsky

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) said on Sunday that the armed rebellion from the Wagner Group shows Russian President Vladimir Putin’s power is waning among his people.

In an interview with Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday,” Cardin pointed to the rebellion by Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner Group as evidence of Putin’s declining credibility, even among his longtime allies.

“Putin has lost his credibility with his own people. His account of why he went into Ukraine is now being challenged, I think, with public opinion and Russia itself,” Cardin told Bream.

It would be easier to name politicians who have not lost their credibility. Better still, try to name just one!

I do not trust anything a Democrat says about Russia…they have proven to be the biggest liars on the subject!

Correct. You can trust the Russians here. Yesterday it was Russians who were shooting Russian Air Force aircraft out of Russian skies and it was Russians who were digging defensive trenches around Moscow protect against attack from other Russians.

I don’t trust Democrats either, obviously.
When it comes to Russia’s invasion of parts of Europe I like to listen to the so called “far right” EU parties, especially the ones in Poland, Italy, Sweden, etc..
They are the most pro “respect-for-borders” and pro-sovereignty-driven politicians you can find. As such they are pro-actively supporting anti-Kremlin policies, and are pushing hard for the liberation of Ukraine.

In Europe, only some ultra-left parties have decided to give Putin some slack, hiding behind “it’s not our business”. That philosophy is destructive for the West’s future existence though.

At least people who support Ukraine are not traitors supporting the historic enemy of their country.

Oh look - another mystery-meat FReeper from nowhere... just the USA. Like so many Uke trashbags.

If they’re such a historic enemy, why did we team up with them and cut deals when they were at their absolute commie WORST during and after WWII?

It’s a rhetorical question, so don’t answer and make yourself look stupid.... again.

Sometimes enemies team up against a bigger one. They cheated on many of our deals so that was often a mistake. They currently even cheat on Migratory bird treaties. They cannot be trusted regardless of what ideology they spout. Russia is a rotten and rogue society. It is bent on aggression and expanding its borders by violence and any way they can. If you cannot understand it then you are the stupid one.

“Ukraine is corrupt Society.”

Actually Russia is far more corrupt. It is hard to tell how corrupt Ukraine is now. The previous head was a Russian leaning President who stole big time. He was removed in an uprising that had support from people in Ukraine and help from persons outside. Zelensky ran as a reformer. Just because someone repeats a lie over and over does not mean that it is true. Russia's military campaign has been severely hampered by corruption resulting in inferior weapons. Ukraine has not been so affected so it appears that Russia is far worse than Ukraine currently. Actually, this war is not about Ukraine as much as it is about Russia which has proven itself to be rogue nation which will start wars of aggression as long as it is able. That is why we have a strong coalition involved opposing them. They are very dangerous and we do not want to go back to the world of 1950's to 1990 where we had to constantly look over our should and concern ourselves with them. Do you?

“Ukraine is corrupt Society.”

So what?

Doesn’t give other nations the right to invade and conquer it.

And like Russia isn’t corrupt?

I’m sure the same could be said about every nation which was invaded throughout history.

“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”
― Frédéric Bastiat

You can have corruption or invasion, conquest and death. And if you can’t differentiate them you will have all of them.

Having conquered and plundered Russia Putin has turned to his neighbors.

Eventually the line has to be drawn to say “no more”.

He just moved 25,000 troops to about 100 miles north of Kyiv. Troops well trained and experienced in urban warfare.

The Russian people were not backing any of this. They support Putin with 80% approval.

Nobody in DC can tout that.
