The Kremlin has forged a deal with Wagner Group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin to defuse the mercenary group's uprising on Saturday.
In exchange for Prigozhin's exile to Belarus, the mercenary leader won't be prosecuted, the Associated Press reported, citing a Kremlin spokesperson.
The reported agreement comes after a paramilitary rebellion on Saturday in which the Wagner Group marched across Russia before suddenly turning around just 120 miles from Moscow. Prigozhin said he didn't want to shed Russian blood.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced Saturday that Prigozhin — and the troops who follow him — will not face criminal prosecution as part of the deal. He also said those troops who did not join in the uprising would be offered Defense Ministry contracts.

We don't know for sure. It might have been a fake coup. I don't think so. I think the FSB is going to assassinate him soon.
I suspect he walked away with more money than we offered and Putin is pretty much in the same position as he was before, perhaps even stronger.
Why stronger? Putin got to discover with absolute certainty who his “friends” were among the oligarchs and military.
Just an alternative summary with just as much validity as the offerings you see in Western media.
Much more to this than what meets the eye.
If he does not poison him, we will know there was another game in play.
Yep, in front of the cameras lots of drama and behind the scenes lots of misdirection.
Putting myself in Putin’s shoes, there is no way I would let this man live.
This is a set up. I don’t believe any of this is real.
Actually it was more of a protest because the Wagner group is being dismantled. But you Ukrainian freaks latched onto it like it was a coup to take out Putin. Talk about grasping at straws, LOL.
I bet they both do a photo op together laughing it out. Prigo is totally safe
utter bs
“I think that puts paid to any Belarus “regime change” notions from “Cookies” Nuland and her pals.”
Very true, compared to Russia, Wagner is a very small army. But compared to Belarus, which is 15 times smaller than Russia, Wagner more than doubles the size of their military.
Love it. Anne and her husband must have gone orgasmic when they first learned of the nascent “civil war.” It died in the crib. Will she be writing a sequel? LOL
This is turning into one of those movies you have to watch twice to catch all the plot twists.
Or as Churchill put it, Russia is a riddle within a mystery inside an enigma, or something like that.
Churchill is right. I don't understand Russia.
“One can escape the wrath of a vicious Russian dictator by moving to a different country.”

Some confusion if Wagner troops returning to Ukraine camps or Belarus.
Count on it.
