This is why these events are so devastating to Putin and his rule. His legitimacy is gone and every country knows it. Nobody will be interested in financing his colonialist wars of choice with nukes on the table. No oil buyers in India. No missile chip sellers in China. Putin is just bad for business and has to go now.

If this attempted coup is a real thing and it appears that it is real.

The chances the current anti-Putin forces are seeking a peaceful negotiated settlement in Ukraine are probably very slim.

If this coup is successful and Putin is removed, whoever replaces him could be far worse than Putin.

Who controls the nukes is a real worry over the next 24-48 hours.
