The government of the southern Russian Voronezh region urged residents to avoid the M-4 north-south motorway connecting Moscow to southern regions because a military convoy was on the move there, after the leader of the Wagner private militia suggested that he planned to oust Russia's military leadership.
The government said on its Telegram channel that the situation was under control and that measures were being taken to ensure public safety.

He is not white hat. But oligarchs want their yachts back and the war ended.
This just might all be Kabuki Theater.
More importantly the Russian army wants to get paid - and is extremely annoyed that their own officers embezzled the money supposed to go towards body armor, food rations and vehicle maintenance.
A lot of effort sending large armored columns hundreds of miles away from Ukraine.
Needs to happen here.
Well if history is any indication this IS how Russia typically implements regime change (see 1918 and 1991).
I think we found the missing $6.2 billion
Wagner are mercenaries. For what the West is sending to Ukraine in cash and materiel, Wagner could probably be bought cheap.
Hard to pick out a white hat when your only choices are villains.

Careful, you don’t want a sledgehammer with your name on it!
Me? I’m just here just for the popcorn and to check on what the chronic Putin Puffers are having to say on FR at this hour based on their shameless support of him and his atrocities for all these months and the fact that this phony Russian Potemkin Vilkage seems to be all imploding now… That we can expect probably good eastern Ukraine advances as a result of this Russian internecine warfare and who knows maybe even exposure if Moscow falls and Putin flees or is strung up , of the Russian archives as to what they’ve been doing to our US/Western politicians and media network taking heads and our social networks w/ disinformatziya, active measures , etc
Time to squash some bugs.
I doubt that -- too dangerous for Putin to let officials think a coup is underway, because he can't be sure they won't support it.
In 1969, Captain Muammar Gaddafi, aware that plots were swirling, announced a coup against Libyan King Idris I. Many officers and officials, afraid of missing out, supported his coup, even though they were uncertain just who the heck Captain Gaddafi (he later promoted himself to Colonel) was, or what qualifications he had to become the head of state.
I am no Putin Fanboi, but he far too shrewd to put himself in the position of Idris I.
Russia simply does not have extra combat capable units sitting around. And I don't see Putin ordering the MOD to send their front line units on a fighting retreat from the Donbas and Crimea to chase Pryghozhin's rear.
I think Trump will have to change all the POTUS 47 merch to “48”. Faced with a Nixonian Biden scenario, the Rats may install Kamalasutra for a few months for the historic effects, or if that’s too much they’ll force her out and put Gruesome Newsom in.
Well, which way was it going?
He isn’t. I pointed out in the other thread the atrocities committed by Wagner, even against civilians with that infamous sledge hammer.
But that doesn’t stop this murderer from exploiting all the transparent lies of Russian propaganda to make his “Make Russia Great Again!” hell march.
And Wagner claims to have shot down 3 helicopters, and some bigger plane of some kind (just heard it over a live podcast and didn’t hear it perfectly) was shot down just a few minutes ago.
“The Winter Palace?”
Yes, I hear there are 14 Rembrandts there — well worth the effort.
Prighozin is at least claiming to support Putin.
Putin is giving a speech on Russian tv.
