Since I never served in the military, I am no expert on this. That said, maybe, just maybe, launching air and artillery strikes on Wagner, then failing to follow up and taking out their leadership, was not a well conceived plan. Especially when Prigozhin as a insider has contacts throughout the Russian military and all over the parts of Russia that matter.

A lot of people rejoiced at the Tsar being overthrown, only to wish him back a few years later.

Makes you wonder how many in the Russian army support Prigozhin? They were just waiting for the right time to revolt.

Ukraine is targeting and destroying supply points, rail, roads, and bridges inside Russian held territory.

Checking a map, Prigozhin will disrupt Russian land lines to Ukraine from Rostov to Voronezh until this is over.

For the Russia general staff to move forces around to handle this is going to be one really neat trick.

When Prigozhin promised to restore justice to the Russian military, he also promised to pay the army. A large part of the Russian army, conscripts, prisoners, those dump in front of the blocking forces, are owed back pay or not getting paid. That is a strong incentive to defect.
